Quiet, cozy, unique retreat in the woods! Easy check in/ out. Kind of hard to find especially at night.Very clean and had mostly everything you want/need for a great stay. Only issue was the fire pit which was listed as available to use doesn't exist anymore and was not updated i. The guest bookhhhhuuuanymore but was
I am a returning guest to this property. It checks all the boxes for me. It gives me that Old Cape feeling. The Barn has the necessary creature comforts, it clean, practical, bed is comfortable, space is colorful, and has a great outdoor shower. I love that the property tucked into the woods but still close to town and beaches.

We really enjoyed our stay. The peaceful location was the best part. We were able to have windows open to enjoy the breeze and sounds of birds (even a Whip-poor-will!), and dine on the deck. Lisa and Deidre were great, and gave us suggestions on some great local places to check out.
Bed and pillows were very comfy too. A great base to explore the trails and beaches of the Cape. We'll definitely return!
Fantastic location and wonderful hosts. This property and setting was completely serene. Walking every morning, beaching, hiking, and exploring daily. Wellfleet is simply beautiful. The best location on the Cape.
It’s our second stay within a year. Two different seasons; summer and fall. Both were perfect.
The house (a renovated barn) is so comfortable with a certain personality.
The back deck includes a grill and table. Two
steps down from the side deck and there is a
fire pit. There are back roads to walk that will lead you to the water, if you up for some dunes. It’s a quiet and most peaceful setting for anyone to relax.
This beautifully renovated barn is the perfect place if you want peace and serenity and yet be closed to town, beautiful beaches and restaurants.
The home is very well equipped with everything you would need and the hosts were outstanding.
We were there as the tropical storm moved up the coast and Deirdre was so thoughtful and provided us with everything we might need if we lost power. Luckily that didn’t happen.
Highly recommend this rental and would return to Wellfleet in a heartbeat. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
My husband, myself and our 2 daughters (9, and 15) stayed for 3 nights. The location is perfect. A quick 20-30 min drive in either direction provides plenty of beaches to explore and a day trip to Provincetown. We also road our bikes out to We had a blast! The owners are very welcoming and made us feel comfortable immediately. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning!
Perfect stay in Cape Cod! We loved the location - place was decorated beautifully, bed was comfortable, amenities were great. Our host, Deidre, was friendly and helpful.
Owners were welcoming and responsive. Renovated barn had many whimsical touches and great artwork. Open design had its pluses and minuses; once one person is up and about, it isn't conducive to others sleeping. Beautiful, secluded location but transportation needed to get places. Wellfleet's beaches and village were wonderful to explore.
If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet place to stay near the National Seashore, look no further. This renovated barn is tucking in the woods off a winding road, just next door to the owner's home. Deirdre was lovely to communicate with. Great place to use as a jumping off point for exploring beaches, trails, towns, and kettle ponds.
It was comfortable and quiet (remote but not too remote) and suited our needs. The kitchen was pretty well equipped, though we only ate breakfasts there.
This is a wonderful, meticulously maintained renovated barn tucked away in the woods. The owners are very responsive and lovely people who live in the main house on the property, so that they are accessible without being intrusive. I’ve been renting in Wellfleet for 30 years, and this is one of the very best houses I’ve stayed in. It is perfect for a family with one or two young children or for a single or couple.
This place was great. Quiet and remote and yet still bikable to anything. Wellfleet is amazing and if you like to explore, there are limitless options. We loved the ocean beaches and our trip to the Provincetown dunes bike trail! Deidre was welcoming and easy to communicate with, the beds were comfortable and the outdoor shower was elite!
We stayed here for 4 nights/5 days. The host was very welcoming and answered any questions we had before & during the trip. The property is set back away from the busy road and is quiet and peaceful. The barn itself was very clean, the beds were very comfy and linens/towels provided were great. It was stocked with everything you need. Wifi was great. Since we stayed early June, with the windows open it was super comfortable all day long and we didn't even need a fan. We would definitely return.
Love to stay in the woods in Wellfleet. Cute place, feels like it's set a world apart from the rest of the Cape. Complete silence and tranquility. Within walking distance of several hiking trails, and just a short drive into town. Comfortable beds. Would stay again!
We had a very enjoyable stay at this rental. The location was great for exploring various parts of Cape Cod. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable, giving suggestions for hikes, places of interest, and dining options (and we did most of them.) The rental was very quiet and peaceful. Hot water was instant in the sinks and showers. The furniture and beds were extremely comfortable which was nice after a long day of hiking/exploring. Main bedroom, bathroom, one twin bed, and laundry are all upstairs. The other twin bed is located under the stairs, and there is an outdoor shower. My husband really enjoyed the outside deck with patio furniture, as he went out there every morning to read and start his day. It was cool while we were there so we used the heater to warm up the rental and it worked well. There is also wood burning stove for colder times.

Why they chose this property
This is a generational, historical family property. Purchased as a 200 acre parcel in the early 1950's, most of it was sold by the owners in the early 1960's to help establish the CCNS. Located near the historic Atwood Higgins House on Bound Brook Island, this an a part of Wellfleet that many visitors never see. It is like walking back in time to when Cape Cod was unexplored by most visitors. In the early days of ownership when this barn housed horses, they kicked up arrowheads in the yard. The (Harvard) Peabody Museum confirmed that the property was once in habited by local natives. The feeling of the property's origin story still saturates the location. When you experience staying here, you'll understand this description. The owners love to share this private, sacred piece of Wellfleet.
What makes this property unique
This home is located on the meandering, quiet, quintessential, old Cape Cod, back road to Truro. You can avoid the summer traffic in every direction. From our driveway you can get to the bay, kettle pond, bike ride, walk, town, library, shop, out to eat & golf, all while avoiding the Route 6 traffic. You never have to take a left turn onto Route 6! You can walk to the bay on a sandy, old time Cape Cod road. Quiet & calm await your arrival!
