What We Expected - With A Couple Hiccoughs
The property was what we expected and the pictures were very accurate. The neighborhood was quiet with the exception of the Interstate noise. But we knew that going into it. There were a couple of hiccoughs though. When we arrived on Friday, we found the yard to be unkempt. Weeds were well over 24” tall. We received a text from the property manager advising the weeds were high due to the rain and the lawn service would be by on the weekend. Weeds that high take weeks to grow. The lawn service had not been there by the time we checked out 5 days later. The water heater wasn’t working when we checked in. We reported it the next morning and by dinner time, they had a plumber replace it. The property manager was excellent with communication about the plumber and the repair. The floors in the house could’ve been a little cleaner. I understand that it’s hard to clean solid floors. But, it didn’t appear as though the cleaning service put a whole lot of effort into it. We did appreciate there being dish soap, a new sponge, toilet paper, and coffee filters. One morning, we found a neighbor standing next to the living room window. He was allowing his dog to do his business on the lawn. We promptly shut the blinds and left them closed for the duration of our stay. Overall, we’d stay here again. It was what we expected after reading reviews. It slept our family much more comfortably and for less cost than a hotel.

Not Quite Ready for Prime Time - February 2024
Overall the house was cute and had a nice layout for a family. The neighborhood was quiet except for the traffic noise from I95 (very close by). However, with that being said, we felt the house was quickly listed without necessary preparations being done prior to renting. We pulled up and noticed immediately the yard had not been maintained for quite awhile. Weeds were throughout the yard and some were a foot high, many were prickly. This was particularly bothersome as we paid a pet fee to bring our small dog. There were many other oversights in the home, including but not limited to, a dormant insect nest on the inside of the doorwall, garage was a mess, only 3 drinking glasses for a home that sleeps 6, no baking sheets, limited pots in the kitchen, no kitchen towels, no rugs or welcome mats by the garage or back door, listing includes a grill but no grilling utensils, etc. The kitchen has a dishwasher but the little door that closes on the soap was missing and the oven glass door was very dirty. There was also no instruction / welcome binder upon arrival. My husband and I agreed the home has good potential as a vacation rental but it is just not there yet. We did report this to the management company the day after our arrival. She did try to rectify a few of the concerns (instacart delivery arrived in a couple of hours) and also had lawn care company come out next day. She also mentioned a small refund which we have not received yet & it’s two weeks later.
