The three of us had a wonderful stay! The charming cottage was beautifully appointed and just as described. There was plenty of heat for the chilly evenings, cozy blankets to snuggle under and a fire pit to warm up under the stars.
The property was peaceful, and fishing off the dock or in the rowboat was fantastic. The scenery was breathtaking! We can't wait to return next year.
Stayed 3 nights early October. Property was perfect for relaxation and enjoying the autumn weather, lake was still warm enough for a quick dip. Cottage was perfectly sized for a group of 4 with everything you might need to make you feel at home
My husband and our dog and I had a wonderful time at 4 Acres on the Lake. The property is extremely beautiful, with many places to explore, relax, and take in the scenery. The lake is lovely for swimming and paddling and we saw lots of wildlife. The cottage is quite small and cozy but had everything we needed and was very clean. Would definitely come back, it was a perfect getaway!
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights. The place is absolutely beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. The outdoor space us beyond amazing. We made good use of the kayaks and rowboat. We caught bass and pike off the dock. We brought our boxer who loved exploring and chasing frogs. This is a great spot for a couple or if you have kids. Excellentc communication with the host and seamlesscheck-in. .wait to stay again. Than
This is our second time at 4 Acres on the Lake and it's just as wonderful as we remembered. The property is large and far away from other cottages, so it's very private and relaxing. We spent most of our time enjoying the water near the dock, taking the kayaks & paddle board out, and just chilling by the fire pit. Thanks for another great getaway!
We had a wonderful week! Swimming, kayaking, falling off the paddle board and relaxing n the hammocks. We have never seen so many fireflies! This location was private and offered all of the comforts of home. I never go back to places twice and yet we are already taking about when we go back to 4 Acres on the lake next summer.
We had a great stay with the family and our pup. The kids and dog loved the beach area and water. Lots of fun with the kayaks provided. We wished the fire pit was towards the back of the property so we could still enjoy the water views as well but overall was happy with our stay!
Doggy and I thoroughly enjoyed my week here, if you're lucky enough to be blessed with nice weather, this property is absolutely glorious!!! The dock is soo relaxing, and watching the sunsets from the hammock was so beautiful! Several great trails within a reasonable drive, don't hesitate to book this !
This was our third stay at 4 Acres and we've already booked for next year. You simply can't beat the privacy, the quiet lake, and the property as a whole. Eric is quick, friendly and thorough in communication and has everything you need. We can't wait to go back. If you're looking for a quiet, private escape with room to spread out and enjoy nature, close to amenities and day trips, this is the spot.
This was our second time at this cottage. We really enjoyed our stay again. It's a great spot for young children and dogs. This year we came toward the end of the summer and the bugs were barely noticeable (last year we came at the end of June and the deer flies were very present). As others mentioned, we did have to be aware of poison ivy, some of which was present even in the mowed sections of the property.
This place is an amazing stay., The neighbourhood is quiet, calm and relaxing, this is our second time here and the pictures don't do it any justice. You can feel one with nature, there's great fishing and swimming off the dock. We heard loons call to eachother over the lake, seen bevers, turtles a doe and it's fawn, ( careful driving in)millions of little frogs, water is clear crisp and sunsets to die for. Kayaking and row boat is amazing. cottage itself is beautiful and has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. We just got home and already want to go back. Most relax we have felt in a year. Were always excited to go and sad to leave, the hot contacted us made sure we didn't have any questions. It's an amazing place to stay if your a nature lover like us. Fantastic trip as always
This was a great vacation spot and timing for our family. Fishing, kayaking, spectacular view!!!!!! Soaked up some sun and the energy from the water.
The two otters visited one morning and the loon was present everyday. The turtles made their appearance too. The wrens in the bird house were a little annoyed when we got closer. But enjoyed watching them go to and fro. We love the outdoor shower as well. The boys played badminton and we played battleship and cards during the rainy days. Feeling so refreshed.
So very grateful.
Mille fois beinvenue!!!!
We had a great time at this delightful cottage! Our youngest loved the sandy beach area, which also made an easy entrance for swimming, the kayaks and the boat. Kayaking around the quiet lake and taking in the sounds and sights of nature was awesome, it was so nice not having motor boats around. We also enjoyed many peaceful days at the dock catching pike, bass, walleye and black crappie while we watched the herons and loons fish as well. We did get bombarded by deer flies whenever we stepped outside, but they mostly left us alone once we got to the dock area. I also brought a Thermacell with me that helped keep them away. The mosquitoes didn't really come out and bother us until after dark. Our dogs loved running free around the property, but there is poison ivy in the brush so make sure yourself and your pets stay on the mowed paths. The cottage is only about a 10 minute drive to Sharbot Lake so if you need anything, a bank, grocery store and pharmacy isn't too far away. This place is well located, has a beautiful property and lake, and great wifi for those rainy days. There really isn't anymore you could ask for! PS: Get naked and take a hot shower outside with nothing but the smell of wild flowers, the chirps of birds and the occasional crow of a rooster... it's heavenly!
We had a great stay at the cottage on lake oconto. The beach and entrance to the lake was great for the kids and we loved that it was dog friendly. Great communication with the owner.
This little slice of paradise was the perfect break and away time we need. We were happy to get out on the kayaks and that everything was provided for water safety. Hiking around the property with our dogs was great. Tip to anyone with pets we brought up a disposable diaper bin for our pet waste. Made it easier to manage. Also , we were prepared for the mosquitoes based on other reviews but once that sun is shining they dissipated. Lovely area and just a wonderful place for some R&R
We stayed here May 27th - June 3rd 2023. Absolutely beautiful location. Would definitely consider renting again. We don't usually go to the same location twice. Was looking forward to the pedal boat but is no longer there. Still had kayaks, a row boat and paddle board at our disposal. The only thing I would change is the mosquitos! But was still better than the deer flies at our last spot. Eric was great at communicating and prompt. Considering bringing our kids next time. Thank you for the wonderful week!
Such a wonderful amount of outdoor space! Unfortunately the mosquitoes and beetles were everywhere, but that was just our luck with the recent wet weather. Place was clean, lawn freshly mowed, and home as described. My partner and I would love to return. Our dog greatly enjoyed his time there as well. Thank you for a great place to stay! The dock was gorgeous.
Had an incredible quiet downtime at this property in fall. Amazing fall colours and nature to witness. Great trails nearby for quick short hikes as well. Will definitely recommend this place. The only thing I found slightly different was to bring my own bedsheets but that was communicated prior to the visit and had no issues.
Thank you Eric for this beautiful cottage.

Many chairs throughout the landscaped property for sitting and enjoying the views, gorgeous night skies, a/c very welcome with recent high temperatures. Comfortable bed and sofa. WiFi great addition.
