Secluded home in Fennville / Saugatuck just steps to Lake Michigan! This well-appointed, spacious 6 bedroom, 4 bath home is tastefully decorated and fully equipped for comfort and convenience. Oriented on a 1.75 acre wooded lot, this home offers a private setting with several outdoor spaces and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Located just 7 miles from the shops, restaurants, & art galleries of Saugatuck and Douglas, this 4200 sq. ft. home has all the amenities you could desire for a comfortable and adventurous vacation.

Lake Access:
Lake Michigan public access for shore walking is just a short walk away. ** Local public lake access point (walkable from the property) (stairs)(0.3 mile walk) is part of our area homeowner’s association. It is just an access point. The beach areas are privately owned but are available to you for shore-walking. Another access point is Pier Cove (2.2 miles) which is lake accessible for shore-walking. West Side County Park (3.0 miles) has a great picnic and grilling area. Due to high water levels, only the North entrance is open.
The BEST beach experience is Oval Beach in Saugatuck (7 miles). Celebrated for its beautiful sweep of shoreline and backdrop of rolling dunes, this is the main beach in town. Its impressive pedigree of awards (Condé Nast Traveler’s Top 25 Beaches in the World, National Geographic Traveler’s Top Freshwater Beaches in the USA, and MTV’s Top 5 Beaches in the USA) is testament to its status as a summertime favorite and natural beauty spot. There are concessions, a picnic area, and adjacent parking and NO STAIRS! Something for everyone.
Another access point for shore walking is Douglas Beach Park at 3099 Lakeshore Dr, Douglas. There are also picnic tables and grills.
If you are up for a hike, there is Saugatuck Dune State park. There are several trails and they all end at the beach. It is mostly used for picnics, walking, etc.

Exterior
A long private drive accesses the peaceful wooded setting with the sounds of Lake Michigan shores close by. A spacious rear deck offers serenity, wooded views, outdoor cooking and dining. Relax in the screened porch or around the outdoor fire pit and enjoy the secluded privacy.

Interior
There are three levels to the house giving plenty of privacy to each bedroom.
Main floor features:
- Open floor plan with vaulted ceilings, spacious living room, large separate dining room, and fully equipped open kitchen. Perfect for entertaining - from an informal bbq to more sophisticated dinner parties. Living room opens up through two sets of double patio doors to the large rear deck, screened in porch, gas grill, and back yard.
- A large master suite with king size bed, tv, Jacuzzi and large double shower. There is also a separate door to the back yard patio.
- 2nd bedroom,
- 2nd full bath,
- office with very comfortable queen sleeper sofa is easily converted to 6th bedroom.
- laundry room with full size washer/dryer and iron.

Second floor consists of a suite that offers a private retreat with character, convenience and tree-top views. TV with direct TV access in the room. Queen bed and additional twin bed.

Lower level area includes two additional spacious bedrooms, additional twin bed, very comfortable queen sleeper sofa, large bath, desk area, and enormous family room with several seating areas for watching TV, playing games, expanded dining space, and just hanging out after an adventurous day.

Perfect layout to enjoy each other’s company, yet have plenty of privacy.

Additional features include: central air, Wi-Fi, Cable TV, main floor laundry, gas grill, large screen TV and DVD player on lower level, and 2 additional flat screen TVs.

Steps to Lake Michigan private association lake access -- only a 0.3 mile (5 minute) walk. Accessible for shore walking.

This is not your average ‘vacation rental’ property. It’s perfect for families and friends looking for a well-appointed vacation destination. The sleeping arrangements can comfortably accommodate up to 16.

Nearby tourist attractions include: downtown Douglas, Saugatuck, Fennville, South Haven and Holland, famous for shopping, restaurants, jet skiing, kayaking, farmers markets, dune rides and the arts.

Sun and Sand - Saugatuck's Oval Beach has been rated by Conde Naste's Traveler Magazine as one of the 25 best shorelines in the world.

For outdoor adventurers, the 50,000-acre Allegan State Game Area offers boating, fishing, biking, hiking, skiing, and bird watching.

Beautiful House and Grounds

This is our third stay at this outstanding house, and it was fantastic as always! The house is gorgeous and the back garden just lovely. We were a large group and had plenty of room to sleep and relax. There is a wonderful fire pit to enjoy; the patio is a comfortable space for chatting and enjoying the wooded lot. Very clean and well-maintained. Lots of great art pieces scattered throughout. Keith is a fantastic host with great communication. You cannot go wrong staying here!

Family vacation

We had an excellent family vacation. The property is spectacular, very close to Lake Michigan with beautiful views a block away. The house is well maintained and the backyard beautifully landscaped. Keith is a very good host with top notch communication.

Perfect weekend getaway

Twelve friends and family spent 3 nights at Fox Eagle Dunes. The quiet, natural surroundings were perfect for our friends and family to have a weekend getaway. There is lots of space for socializing as well as finding quiet spaces for alone time. The large deck, backyard, and fire pit were great for everyone to hang out, and our dog loved having the fenced backyard to explore. Easy access to the beach and lake views made this a perfect location for our large group. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic house!

The house is well maintained, clean, and has so much space. The extra twin bed in the top level bedroom was great for our family. When you were on the top floor or in the lower level, you really couldn't hear much from the main floor--this was key for our group, which included young kids who had very early bedtimes. We visit family in Fennville as often as possible and will stay in this house again. It's conveniently located to some of our favorite places, including Cranes and Waypost, and in general is just a great home base for the whole Fennville/Saugatuck area. The communication was really easy and clear. Overall incredible house and location.

Wonderful!

Me, my husband and some of our extended family had such a great time at this house. The property is BEAUTIFUL and so is the house. Extremely clean, comfortable and check in couldn’t have been easier. The host also provided detailed instructions for the house.. where utensils belonged, what kind of stores and entertainment, hiking.. etc were in the area. We would definitely stay again!

Great location, well maintained

Our group stayed here recently for a friends getaway. IT was a great space- the property was so clean and well kept. It was close to the beach, private and secluded. There was plenty of parking for us, it was well stocked with essentials and there were clear and easy instructions throughout the house. The host was friendly and responsive. We had no issues during our stay. Definitely recommend this beautiful home

Great Week In Fennville

This is a great property that accommodates a large group, with plenty of separate rooms and sleeping arrangements. The house is amazingly decorated and equipped. The property provides privacy and seclusion. A short drive to everything you need. There is not a large beach area to access at the house, however way better beaches are nearby for a short drive. The restaurants in Fennville were good, or a short drive to Saugatuck for many more options. Communication with the host was the best of anywhere we stayed - got back to us immediately on any questions or assistance. Highly recommend.

Fennville Weekend

We enjoyed our weekend stay in Fennville at this beautiful property, our second stay. The home is well appointed and we used every sleeping space. The owner had the office ready for sleeping with the pullout sofa and a bottle of red wine to welcome us! We enjoyed coffee on the back deck and our evenings were spent around the fire pit. The artwork around the house is beautiful and it's fun to notice all of the decorated spaces, there are many! The grounds and gardens are beautiful and we watched the hummingbirds and butterflies in the yard every morning. We watched the sunset in the evenings, just a short walk from the house. The house/property is so beautiful, it's hard to leave but we did spend a day at Oval Beach and another day in downtown Saugatuck and on the donut boats which were fun to take up and down the Kalamazoo River! For those who like to walk/hike, on the way to the beach drop them off at the Mt. Baldhead stairs and they can take the sand dune trail all the way to Oval beach. The fruit market near the house has excellent take and bake pizzas and all kinds of drinks, in addition to fruit and veggies! We had a great stay and hope to return again to this beautiful property! Thank you to the owners for sharing this beautiful home!

Perfect House for a Getaway

We rented this house for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary weekend. There were 10 adults and it was the perfect house. Tons of space, tons of beds, a beautiful kitchen. The outside area had many sitting areas and a firepit. Keith was a great host with outstanding communication. I would recommend this house to any group for any events.

Beyond Expectations

Don't know where to begin but all of the previous reviews were spot on. As you pull in the drive you realize you have your own little paradise driving up to the house. The grounds are immaculate both in front and back of the house. Loved to sit out in early morning on front porch with coffee and enjoy the peace and wildlife strolling through. The back porch and gardens are just plain beautiful and kept up great. There is a nice firepit with plenty of chairs and a bench we enjoyed a few nights with smores and good old family stories. Inside the house there is so much space for everybody to enjoy their own privacy or hang out together. The house is decorated with so many different kinds of art depending on which area you are in. Couldn't have been impressed more and many in our party commented on how nice it all came together. Keith was a fabulous host and answered any questions super fast. We would highly recommend you staying at this house if you are in the area and you won't regret it. The area has so much to offer from Saugatuck, Holland, South Haven, Fennville, and many orchards and wineries and fresh fruit stands. Thank you for sharing your house with my family and myself as it was much appreciated!!

Summer Stay in Michigan

Amazing

From the moment we drove up the drive we loved this home. Beautiful grounds, fantastic flower gardens with art everywhere. So relaxing watching the hummingbirds enjoying the flowers too. The house is just lovely with beautiful furnishings, art and everything we needed to have for a wonderful stay. Although the furnishings are beautiful they are also comfortable and welcoming. Much thought was given to providing everything we needed. We celebrated our 55th anniversary with family and there was plenty of room for all. The bedrooms were comfortable and provided everyone with a private space. The location was perfect, not far from everything we wanted to do. We enjoyed the beaches, shopping, golf and our new family favorite, pickle ball. All close by. We enjoyed watching the sunsets over Lake Michigan, just a short walk away. Thank you for a memorable vacation.

Michigan Vacation

Our family has never vacationed in Michigan but would highly recommend it to anyone. The house was really great and nicely tucked back in the woods so we felt really secluded yet were within minimal driving distance to many different things. Unfortunately the lake was still pretty cold but the kids enjoyed splashing in the waves. We loved the short walk to the beach and how it was basically having our own private beach. Communication with Keith was very easy. Check in was super simple and he communicated with us throughout the week easily and was super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house and area to anyone.

Perfect for Girls Weekend

Wonderful, Relaxing Stay

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at the Wooded Retreat. It is a beautiful house with plenty of space and gorgeous back yard to hang out in. House is in a quiet area and just a short walk to lakefront views. The owners were incredibly accommodating and hospitable. I recommend making sure you bring toiletries and any comforts from home as they are not provided at the house. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Great Fall Getaway in Fennville, MI

This was a delightful long weekend for the four of us. The owners obviously take very good care of the home and grounds. Everywhere you look, you’ll see interesting art in various forms. The house has a great “flow” and is set up in a very considerate way. The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen was well outfitted. One of my friends immediately reserved another weekend for her family! Overall a lovely experience.

The perfect weekend getaway

This house was absolutely perfect — size, location, cleanliness, “amenities.” The backyard was the cutest, most quaint little paradise. Short walk to a private beach along Lake Michigan. Beautiful property

My sisters and I rented this property for a weekend reunion with childhood friends. Our parents were friends from just after WWII, and our three families got together for all the summer holidays for many years. We hosted the get-together at the rental, and it couldn't have been more perfect (except for the weather). Plenty of room inside, a large bank of windows and sliding door out to the large deck gave a real indoor-outdoor feel to the space. The deck had seating for 20+ people, just what we needed, and there was a firepit and a grill, and the back yard was beautiful, lots of mature grasses, rhododendrons, and other plantings. Great memories were made. The kitchen was very well-stocked. All of the bedrooms had plenty of privacy, and most either had an en suite bathroom or one just next door. The house itself was just really cool and beautifully decorated. We kept commenting that every time we looked around, we saw a different interesting lamp or wall hanging or table or piece of art. The house was very clean, and the host very accommodating. Wonderful weekend!

Beautiful neighborhood, private & very comfortable

This listing exceeded our expectations in every way. The large home was spotlessly clean, modern and easy to live in. Very well equipped providing probably everything you might need. Good location w/in 15 minutes of Saugatuck. (Don't forget Fenville --good restaurants & roadside stands there.) Easy walk for sunset views. Beautiful gardens on site. Keith had just the right amount of contact. We had a most relaxing stay.
