The villa had what we needed, but the kitchen and furniture (couch & master mattress specifically) could use a little maintaining and/or updating. The AC froze the first evening we got there, but maintenance was quick to respond. The main issue we had was the bridge in the pictures for easier access to the beach, was closed and looks to be closed for the foreseeable future and shouldn’t be used as a selling point at this time. We would recommend the place/location, but maybe call about the bridge access before booking. Overall successful trip and we will be back to the area!

Nice condo, ample room for the two of us, some updates. Bridge across lagoon was closed, adding 5 minutes to the walk to the beach. Enjoyed screened in porch overlooking lagoon and watching Arnold the alligator swim by. Condo is exactly as pictured.

Fantastic Location!
This is our third stay on Kiawah Island and this was a fantastic location next to the Sanctuary Resort Hotel and within a very short walk to the tennis courts and beach. Master Bedroom was very comfortable and loved the mattress and modern bathrooms. Twin beds in second bedroom were great for the kids. Very quiet and serene screened in back porch overlooking the pond (with alligators!) was great for morning coffee and breakfast!

Solitude
I’m adventuresome but I enjoy solitude and privacy, so I wasn’t too bothered by this, but this place is really secretive. Upon arrival, I didn’t know I had to pass through an exclusive club gate, I didn’t know it was in some kind of exclusive resort complex, I didn’t know what I could do for free or pay a fee for, I didn’t have a map of the area, etc etc etc. I was totally out of the loop.

Early Riser Paradise
If you like to wake up early, this is the location for you. The proximity to the Sanctuary with the weed blowers, lawn machinery, and street blowers start at 7:00 am. Tennis players are early risers as well. The condo was clean and comfortable. It is a bit of a walk to the beach and even though the condo is on the first floor, there are still steps up to the unit.

Return to Kiawah
We have visited Kiawah several times over the past nine years and have used Vacasa/VRBO for our 7 day -14 day rentals. This unit was very clean, well furnished and comfortable. We liked the ground floor entry. We were favorably impressed with the kitchen and the master bed and ensuite bath. The king bed mattress was to our liking as we prefer a firm mattress. The closets were furnished with wooden clothes hangers. The unit faces south and sunrise was easy on the eyes. Sunset, after the equinox, was casting harsh light and heat into the unit. We enjoyed meals and morning coffee on the screened porch and observing wildlife (deer, squirrels, birds and a gator) close to the unit. We had one issue with none of the coffee makers being functional however the property manager sent a new drip maker to the unit the following morning after check in. There were very minor issues with a dim light over the dining area, small water leak at the kitchen sink and crawling pests showing up after a few days. I'm certain the management company has addressed those satisfactorily. The unit is positioned next to the tennis courts so one can hear activity there if one is not biking the island, dining away from the unit or strolling the beach. Beach access is five minutes from the unit and easily gained via the lagoon bridge, which affords a view of water birds, and more gators. All appliances were clean and operational. We had two instances of the upstairs neighbor playing music/television loud enough to disturb our sleep however once I asked him personally to lower the volume, we had no further disruptions. We would return here given the opportunity.

Wonderful stay
The villa is located very close to the bridge that leads straight to the beach. It is very peaceful. Tennis courts are located nearby and it is an easy walk to Sanctuary hotel to grab a drink at the bar or to have dinner at one the hotels restaurants. The villa had everything we needed. It is nicely updated and clean. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again!

Great place to Stay especially if you play tennis.
Stay especially if you play tennis. Updated unit with comfortable bedding , plenty of linens and nice towels. The kitchen was well equipped, just bring your own spices. Everything worked and we had no maintenance issues during our stay. There is an easy to use path and walkways to the beach but it is about a 10 minute walk. Plenty of biking and walking trails. The island is lovely. It’s about 3 1/2 miles to the Fresh fields area where there are many shops and restaurants along with the grocery store.

Great unit
Another pleasant stay at our favorite vacation spot! The unit was clean and had all the necessary amenities. 4789 sits at the end of the winding road that takes you into the Tennis Club Lane villas, just next to the tennis courts. The 5 min walk to the beach takes you over the pond, on to a well lit path. The beach access is across the road where you stroll under a beautiful green canopy, past the perfectly manicured Turtle Point golf course then on to the boardwalk, through the dunes. Bring your wagon, if you have multiple chairs, toys or a cooler to transport! All our basic necessities were provided (hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, sheets and towels) but be prepared to supply ALL of your own cooking essentials, due to COVID restrictions. If you plan on preparing meals in the villa, you will need to bring or purchase things like salt and pepper, coffee filters (there is a Keurig) oils, spices, etc. Gone are the days of discovering treasures left behind from previous renters, that saved us on our Harris Teeter bill. The only negative thing I feel I need to share is the condition of the mattresses in the villa. Simply put, they were just not comfortable, for any of us. I have brought this to the attention of our rental agency. I can only hope they pass the info along to the home owners and the mattresses are upgraded prior to your arrival. I hope this review helps you prep for your trip and you enjoy your stay in Kiawah as much as my family did!

Worked very well for us for a spring week away
This small 2- bedroom unit has one big plus: a sizable screened porch that overlooks a calm pond, complete with a couple of alligators, blue herons, turtles, chirping birds of all types. We ate all our meals (except breakfast when it was still cool) out on that porch. The master bedroom is a bit small, but also has a door to the screened porch. The bed was super soft, but it worked. Both bathrooms have been updated. The kitchen wasn't fully stocked, but that's probably common during a pandemic. The Internet worked very well, and so did the TVs, which included a DVR, along with Netflix and HBO and Cinemax. The furnishings aren't deluxe, but they are fine. The unit was clean. The bridge to the beach is right outside the unit's front door. It's a short walk, maybe 1/3 of a mile. Kiawah doesn't have a lot of restaurants or shopping, but a small convenience store is a short walk away, along with Night Heron Park with activities for kids. There are many routes for walking or bike riding, all over the island. Would we rent this unit again? Yes, definitely.

Tennis tournament vacation
Place was perfect. Very clean, great location for tennis facility, layout of condo was really nice, view out the back was private and pretty. King bed is very comfortable. Twin bed was too firm for our liking but that’s our only complaint. We will definitely come back.
