Nancy and Greg were superb hosts, and provided a lovely space for my friend and I to stay. Our puppies loved it too! The morning breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended!
Nancy and Greg were amazing hosts! Their hospitality was above and beyond, and we had the most enjoyable weekend in their care. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Hobbit to anyone visiting Gabriola. :)
Greg and Nancy offer a very beautiful and peaceful Hobbit House to enjoy! 5 They are friendly and full of great information about the island when you feel like chatting and are equally respectful of your privacy when you choose it. The house provided everything we needed. I really appreciated that they allowed us to bring our cat. As others have mentioned, the breakfasts are just amazing! Thank you Greg, Nancy, Surfer and Tiki
The Hobbit was the perfect spot on Gabriola for my wife, dogs, and myself. Nancy and Gregory were amazing hosts and the breakfasts were a great touch! We will definitely check if the Hobbit is available the next time we need a place t stay on Gabriola!
As in the past with Nancy and Gregory, excellent experience!
Nancy and Gregory are great hosts. They care about your experience and communicate wonderfully. The Hobbit House is a perfect launch pad from which to explore Gabriola. It's warm and comfy, with all the essential amenities. We stayed here last year, and had a great experience. This time was, if anything, better. Warm thanks, Nancy and Gregory!
A little treasure, clean, comfortable, fully equipped, and breakfasts that are worth the price alone. Nancy and Gregory are wonderful hosts, rich with warmth and kindness. We are grateful for their hospitality. Yes, do stay here!

Our hosts were great. Breakfast included if we wanted and we did. It was very relaxing, just what we needed.
A quaint place to stay in a beautiful setting. Hosts were very quick to respond in booking process, extremely hospitable providing all sorts of extra information about what to do/where to eat. They provided wonderful little extras throughout our stay and made us very delicious breakfasts. We hope to be back!

Can't wait to go back! Greg and Nancy were wonderful hosts with lots of good recommendations for places to visit on Gabriola. The amenities were great also. Lovely area to BBQ and hangout outside. Plus the breakfasts were delicious:)
We had a great stay at the hobbit cottage. The cottage was the perfect size for two adults and our two year old. Nancy and Gregory are fantastic hosts, they were friendly and welcoming but gave us lots of space to enjoy the peaceful setting of their home. The breakfasts were a real treat! We hope to be back.
Nancy was the most gracious hostess serving us breakfast each morning with a smile and suggesting which attractions might be of interest to us.
The fact that there was no television or radio made this hideaway all the more Zen for us
Thank you for such a peaceful two days on Gabriella Island
Our hosts, Nancy and Gregory, are really lovely people. They were wonderfully welcoming, helpful, and generous. The "Hobbit" cabin is great, and has the unique Gulf Island charm. It's clean, comfortable, and nicely put together with lots of thoughtful personal touches from Nancy and Gregory. We plan to stay again, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting a calm retreat while exploring Gabriola Island.
Our hosts were kind and thoughtful; we appreciated them and the delicious breakfasts!
They do have a loud dog, so if anyone is afraid of pups, I would let the hosts know before you arrive so they can accommodate you.
Peace and quite, but a short distance from all the usual amenities.
The cabin looks and feels exactly like the photograph. Rustic and quirky, but also very comfortable. Our hosts Greg and Nancy were welcoming, fun to be with and fed us the most wonderful breakfasts. We couldn't have been happier.
We loved our stay in this sweet little cottage last week (aug/24). The cottage is cute and colorful, and close enough to walk to ocean views.
Gregory and Nancy were very welcoming and friendly, and you can tell they’ve put a lot of love into their Hobbit (as well as into their breakfasts 😍).
They went above and beyond in notifying us of ferry cancelations, knowing we were on a set deadline. We would happily stay with them again!
The Hobbit is a quaint cottage on Gabriola Island - tight quarters for 4, but definitely do-able. Breakfast was included (lovely surprise!) & hosts Nancy & Gregory were accommodating of our food allergies.
It rained a lot the week we were there and nothing dried, which is not unusual for the lower mainland, but also meant towels and clothes all stayed damp (although they asked if we wanted the towels laundered midweek). Bring extra clothes and rain gear as we couldn't find laundry services on the island. Overall a fantastic stay at the Hobbit.
The Hobbit was very cozy and relaxing, surrounded by lush forest. Unlike other cabins that we've stayed in, the Hobbit is well insulated and warm.
The kitchenette is very basic and not meant for a lot of cooking but it's perfect for heating up some food or drinks which was fine for us as we wanted to eat out/support the local economy anyway.
Nancy and Greg clearly added a lot of thought and care to the cabin from the cute gnome dish sponge to the relaxing rocking chairs.
The mainly veggie breakfasts were varied, healthy and delicious - and always with some fruit - so appreciated!
Nancy and Greg were very welcoming and warm. Their pup Surfer is absolutely adorable. <3 Thank you for the lovely stay in the Hobbit!
