About this property
The Charcoal Chalet
Forrest Cabin meets secluded Treehouse. Recently renovated cabin nestled up in the trees far away from the hustle and bustle of the Gold Coast but still only a 10 minute drive to The Alley (Currumbin Beach).
Surrounded by soft breezes and nature; with Koalas, Wallabies, Bandicoots, Echidnas, Kookaburras and Cockatoos all making sporadic visits as well as many other critters.
This private acreage is a perfect spot for family holidays with the house designed to fit two families easily!
THE SPACE
Just putting the finishing touches on the property as we speak as well as waiting on some bits of furniture and gadgets (blinds, bean bag chair, bar table and BBQ). We will be ready to rock n roll in April 2024.
Large spacious outdoor living areas featuring a covered deck that rivals the interior for space. As well as two lawns and expansive manicured tiered garden aesthetically lit with one outdoor fire pit and benches.
Inside is cozy while still offering an open style of living with a sizeable dining and cooking space making most of the views of the surrounding forrest through large windows.
The living room offers a cool spacious hideaway from the summer heat while still making the most of the greenery just outside with large windows complete with a small wood fuelled fire place for those winter nights.
The Master Bedroom comes with a King size bed, its own complete brand new ensuite and balcony and three built in closets. It is the largest of the three bedrooms.
Bedroom Two features a Queen size bed and view peering out to the gum tree laden Forrest behind the house. It has one built in closet, a tall boy of drawers and under-bed drawer storage.
Bedroom Three contains two bunk beds perfect for kids but also rated for adults. It has one built in closet.
All three bedrooms as well as living room have their own seperate air conditioning and ceiling fans. The main bathroom shared by the house has a separately roomed toilet. Also a fully working laundry with both washer and dryer. Kitchen and Laundry both contain contemporary appliances as well as cutlery, cookware, tableware and other essentials!
GUEST ACCESS
The lot! The block is an acre so you’re welcome to explore.
Beware the house sits on a bit of a slope right up in the rainforest treetops and behind the house is basically untouched bushland full of Koalas, Wallabies, Bandicoots, Echidnas, Kookaburras, Black and White Cockatoos, Galahs, Lorikeets, Tawny Frogmouth Owls, Eastern Water Dragons, Green Tree Frogs, every type of possum you could probably think of and many other beautiful Australian wildlife.
NOTEWORTHY
Many different kinds of watercraft from kayaks to standup paddle boards to surf boards and surf lessons are available from businesses either on the beach or infront of Currumbin Boathouse on the creek.
The mouth of Currumbin Creek which runs into the ocean is a must go for young families, surfers and any tourists visiting. Colloquially called ‘The Alley’ by locals and blow-ins alike. Its crystal blue waters contrast vividly with the almost white sand and black breakwater rocks. Offering rockpools at the headland as well as some of the best surf for both the experienced and the beginners. Or take a stroll down Currumbin Beach to Elephant Rock and climb to the lookout, it just might be whale watching season so best to check through the binoculars provided at the top. Or climb the Currumbin Stairs back near the creek’s mouth. Lots to do at the beach to keep both the active and the laid back family busy and happy alike.
Rare Black Cockatoos and Tawny Frogmouth Owls as well as Galahs and numerous other Australian Parrots are regularly seen in the area and commonly seen on the back deck of the house.
With a short ten minute drive to the Springbrook National Park trails and waterfalls as well as the Currumbin Creek Rockpools. You’ll be local to both the rain forrest and the ocean. As the beach isn’t the only thing this bottom corner of Queensland has to offer!
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
The neighbourhood is still zoned rural and all houses sit on at least an acre. With minimal streetlights and even rarer phone reception coverage. Everyone here is laid back typical Australians who are always friendly but like their privacy.
GETTING AROUND
You will need a vehicle to make the most of the area during your stay as we are pretty out of the way of public transport and such.
There is plenty of parking available at the property with a massive driveway, on street parking as well as under cover parking for one vehicle.
