About this property

Charming century home in a quiet neighborhood, 3 blocks from downtown Hillsdale

Thistle House is centrally located, 7 min walk to restaurants, pubs and historic downtown Hillsdale.
Our home was built in 1900 and has modern conveniences including Wi-Fi, smart TV and two computer work stations. Relax with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine at the local, handmade Amish island or in the sunroom.
With 1800sqft, there is lots of natural light and open spaces for plenty of room for 8 guests. Two dining tables make great spots for game nights, laughter and meals.

There are 2 queen beds, 1 full bed and a sleeper sofa. The sofa bed is in the family room. The family room was the turn of the century parlor that is easily converted into a private sleeping area by a beautiful, solid 4 ft pocket door. There is a full closet for personal belongings in the front sunroom. The full and half bath are on the main level.

The home was built in 1900 with second floor having the original pine flooring, so this old home has some creaks that makes sneaking for a solo midnight snack a challenge.

Small firepit and outdoor dining table are in the back yard. The lot is 90x150ft so there is room for you to stretch your legs.

Those travelling with children : booster seat and highchair in kitchen; sleeper pen for infants and bedrails for young children. We have added some of our daughters' favorite books in the TV room.
Enjoy your stay!

Lovely property!
We really enjoyed our stay at this cute property! Our group included my older aunt who used the sofa bed on the main floor which was perfect for her! The room had doors that gave her complete privacy, and yet we had plenty of other space to gather in the kitchen and dining room area to talk and enjoy each others company. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms as did another friend couple. The rooms were well appointed with everything we needed, very comfortable beds and pleasantly decorated!Kitchen also well appointed, Keurig coffee maker. My main concern is always cleanliness and this property is immaculate! We will definitely try to stay here again!

Cozy Hillsdale
We enjoyed a very comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood. Beds were very comfortable. Large kitchen with 2 dining spaces. Internet was fast. We enjoyed our stay and will hope to return. Jennifer was easy to communicate with. Keyless entry made checkin easy.

What a charming place!
We were in town to see our new grandson and this home was perfect! Clean and comfortable. Spacious and a lovely back yard where we had a picnic! The owner has literally thought of everything we might need, even a speaker! And she left us a giant cookie to congratulate us on our new grandson! Everything was perfect.

Just right
We came to Hillsdale for three days and three nights. We found this property and are very glad we did. It’s a very nice, warm home with a lot of charm and everything we needed for our stay. The host was excellent, very communicative and thoughtful in a way that most other hosts aren’t.

Family reunion
The house was very clean and well stocked with essentials. The biggest issue was all bedrooms are upstairs and all bathrooms were down stairs. We had two handicaps elderly with us that could not do the stairs good, so it was very inconvenient for them. Also the listing said it had a hot tub and there was no. Hot tub there and that was disappointing. But other than that we loved it.
