Mother-Daughter trip
The home was very clean and cozy. Had the feel and personality of visiting friends at their cabin. My daughter and I stayed 5 nights and had our friends - another mother-daughter couple - stay with us for 2 days. We enjoyed a drive along the Cherohala Skyway, hiking the Joyce Kilmer double loop trail, visiting nearby Marie's Lavendar Farm, and more. It's beautiful to sit on the dock by Lake Santeelah, though the short walk across the street is a little tricky because there is no shoulder on the road. The commication from the company that manages this property is one-way generic information sent through email only. I had sent messages through VRBO app asking questions with no response. They did not communicate check-in information through the app, but in an email only and not until right before our trip (I like when the app is my 'one stop shop' for information, but my communication with Evolve is only 3 messages from me with no responses). Recommendations (in addition to the above): * Lunch at T. Dubbs * Cafe de Olla (it's one of the few reataurants that are open on Sundays) * Hike up Hooper Bald to the clearing to see the wild flame azaleas (when they're in bloom beg-mid June).
Stayed 5 nights in Jun 2024
