There is a private tower for surround observation of sea and mountain view at sunset, walking distance to village bar\taverns and mini markets all open all year round; it is only few minutes' drive to the nearest sandy beaches with more taverns bars and coffee shops. Kitries harbour with its authentic fresh seafood restaurants is a 15 minute drive. Kalamata cosmopolitan city is only 15 minutes drive offering beach front restaurant, and active night life.

More Things to do: Water sports
The marina in Kalamata offers many boat trips, with fishing, sailing and windsurfing all popular activities. Boasting Blue Flag beaches along its beautiful stretch of coastline, visitors can either relax in the Mediterranean sun, or try snorkelling or scuba-diving in the crystal-clear waters. Day trips to Crete are also an option, with a regular ferry service leaving from the port at Kalamata.
Stupa with its famous beautiful beaches is only 40 minutes drive.
Cultural events:

Fantastic villa

We were 6 adults and 3 children staying at Villa Elsie. We had a truly wonderful holiday here with plenty of space for us all and all the facilities we needed. The views were stunning and so pretty in the evening watching the sunset and the lights of Kalamata. The little village was an easy stroll for a meal at one of the three tavernas but we mostly cooked at the villa including a couple of barbecues.We visited the beaches, Kytries and Kalamata by car as they were all close by. Would love to return one day!

OUTSTANDING. FELL IN LOVE WITH KALAMATA AND THE VILLA

Les the owner was fantastic. Nikola the property agent was amazing and now a friend. We stayed for month of June. All our guests were simply amazed with property; the sunsets (better than Santorini) and Kalamata. We loved it so much not only will we return but maybe try to buy a place. Best review I can give. Wonderful peaceful place!

We stayed here with our family so we could check out Kalamata and the surrounding area. This was a gem! Beautiful views, peaceful place within. A short walk to some great tavernas! They had small menus, but my goodness the food was excellent! Overall, we really loved Thai property! Very spacious for a large family or friend vacation!

Gorgeous views, lots of space

Villa Elsie is a lovely, peaceful place for a holiday in Kalamata. You are definitely better off having a car but there are three tavernas in walking distance and taxis are easy to book. The pool is a really good size and plenty of sun loungers are provided. The villa is a little tricky to find from the coordinates but once you know the name it is easy. The beach nearby is lovely and the villa itself is as pictures. Views are absolutely stunning. Good wifi, plenty of kitchen utensils etc. for cooking and a lovely welcome pack was provided. Definitely recommend staying here.

This was a great property for a family Holiday The pool was fun for swimmers as it had no real shallow end.Perched high on the Hillside it had great views across the bay but access to the beach by car is easy.The whole family had afabulous time

Beautiful villa with amazing view!

We enjoyed our stay here! Beautiful home with spacious decks with spectacular views. Plenty of room for entire family. Well-equipped kitchen. All bedrooms have AC and main level has fans. Nice swimming pool and enjoyed using pool floats as no shallow end. Great host!

Met by the wonderful Nicola, the villa was ideal in every regard. Clean, light, spacious and had everything we needed. Easy walk to the village for a choice of 3 tavernas and a half drive to the very pretty Kardamyli beachside village. Really enjoyed our stay

Enjoyable stay celebrating 70th birthday with extended family

Overall the house lived up to our expectations and all 11 of us had a very enjoyable week there. The house has an amazing view overlooking the bay, Kalamata and sunsets. House is clean and bathrooms are modern. The kitchen is a bit small for larger groups with just a half size dishwasher. Very friendly and helpful house manager (Georgious) who attended to any query promptly and a nice welcome kit in the fridge upon our arrival. Also lots of gear that could be used when going to the beach, eg sunchairs and umbrellas. A bit far to go to the closest supermarket. All in all a great week!

Best Villa Ever..

Can't recommend enough.. The villa was amazing. Very clean..very well equipped. The bedrooms were all lovely. The pool was regularly cleaned. ....and the views were to die for!! Both the owner and the property managers were always on hand for help or advice and made us feel well looked after..Can't wait to return!!

Beautiful house with an astonishing view

We were 9 adult staying in the house for one week. This was possible as nearly all rooms were big and nice. The terrace and the pool area was beautiful and the view were even better. Furthermore, whenever we needed a bit of help or advice we called Nicola and Georgios and they were very helpful. Be aware that there are 10 minutes drive to the beach - but on the other hand the view from the house were so nice it did not matter. One improvement area is the tools in the kitchen which are a bit small and few when you want to cook several dishes for 9 adults.

Great holiday

We had a lovely experience at Villa Elsie. The rooms are big and clean, the hot water is plentiful, and the bathrooms are modern. The view over the pool to the sea is beautiful, and I think the pictures here undersell how nice it is. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning and had wine to watch the sunset each night and just couldn’t get enough of it. The pool is great as were the tavernas in the nearby village. Overall, we were really pleased with everything and we’d rent here again without hesitation.

Great place to relax, superb views.

Great relaxing stay, walking distance to village with friendly taverns, good food, Good size pool, well maintained, private location, not overlooked, short drive to beaches with bars etc, Villa is well stocked and clean. Great views, peaceful evenings. Had a refreshing break, sadly too short, highly recommendable.

Stunning views from a spacious villa

We enjoyed 11 days here with a group of 8 adults and 3 kids. The views across the ocean are stunning, and the villa was plenty spacious enough to accommodate our group. The pool was very well taken care of, which was a big attraction for both adults and kids. The decks are all large, and we ended up eating outside every night. We had a fantastic time here. The only reason I give it 4 out 5, instead of 5, is that a couple of the mattresses were not very comfortable and the wifi was spotty. We'd be more than happy to come back again. Kalamata is a great base for doing days trips in the Peloponnese.

Great stay in Villa Elsie !

Great stay in Villa Elsie ! The villa is new, clean, very pleasant, offers many possibilities and with an amazing view over the Messenian Gulf. Terrasses with seaview and comfortable furniture at the pool, ground, and first floor. Lovely pool with seaview and barbecue. Climate control throughout the house. Ample and fully equipped kitchen (with cold beers and wine in the fridge on arrival day !). With room for over 10 people it was more than spacious enough for us (parents and 4 teenagers) but still very cosy. Close to Kalamata in complete rest but not lonely. Historic sites such as Mystras and Ithome at approx. 1 hour drive. The route to Mystras through the Taygetos mountans is really beautifull! Lovely beaches just down-hill (south of Akrogiali, 5 minutes drive) and in Stoupa (30 minutes by car). Many affordable restaurants and Greek taverns with good quality dishes for every taste. What else would one need for a very very nice and relaxing experience ! If we were to rank it on a review site, we would give 5 out of 5 stars ! Fam. Jan from Holland

Fabulous villa in great location

We had a fantastic week at Villa Elsie - perfect location a short walk to the village with three tavernas to choose from and the villa itself was ideal, superb views and utter peacefulness. Would definitely recommend it as a base to explore or as we did a base to relax and unwind in.

Amazing Family Holiday.

We are a family from the US, We stayed Villa Elsie 3 years ago. Had a great time then, and gain this year. Plenty of space, Enjoyed the evening walks to the restaurants in the village. We had a fantastic week. The facilities were great and it is very well maintained. The views are breathtaking. We had a relaxing week spending most of the time in the gorgeous pool. Perfect for a family holiday. The villa is situated in a really peaceful location, utterly tranquil. We enjoyed the evening walks to the village with its three equally good tavernas offering fantastic views across the gulf, perfect to go and watch the sunset. The local beaches and secluded coves are within easy reach. I would not hesitate in recommending Villa Elsie, perfect if you want to go and unwind. John S.

Super Villa in a stunning location

Together my husband and I chose Villa Elsie for a special family holiday. It was everything we had hoped for and the whole family had the most wonderful time. The villa is amazing. Spacious and easily accommodated the 10 of us, age range 10 to 77! Fantastic views from all areas of the villa and a superb pool area which also suited everyone. At the end of our 2 week stay we were all sad to leave this beautiful villa and it's peaceful location. The housekeepers Pam and Gerry are lovely people and nothing was too much trouble. Just a note: We were surprised to find such a small kitchen and dishwasher in such a large and beautiful villa and one of the 2 bedrooms described as single beds was in fact bunk beds, but at least they are full size. My 2 youngest grandchildren were happy to share the room with bunk beds. We all had an amazing and memorable time.

Excellent situated house in quiet area

We spent a week in this very cosy house situated far enough from Kalamata in order for us to enjoy the silence of the greek countryside but still not too far to be able to take a short trip to the city if needed. The place was clean, pool was just the right size. The view of the see and the city was fantastic from the terrace and we enjoyed it every morning and evening before going to bed.

Fantastic Holiday.

We had a really great time in Villa Elsie. It is a luxurious villa with a lot of space and a garden like in paradise with flowers, grenades, walnuts, lemons, herbs etc. It's a lovely place to enjoy life! Fantastic view over the landscape, sundowner just in front of the terraces. Very friendly and helpful people (housekeeper).We will come back one day!!! A superb base for wonderful holiday

We have just arrived home having had the most enjoyable time at Villa Elise. It is in a wonderful position with stunning views. The house is comfortably furnished and bigger than we imagined. The pool area is spectacular and the balconies are lovely. The WIfI is unreliable but Pam and Jerry (very helpful housekeepers) do what can be done to sort out any issues. We found them very obliging and responsive. The local village is pretty and has three reliable tavernas that in our experience seemed to host a lot of locals. It's only a ten minute walk from the house. There is no longer a local village shop which is a shame, but there is one a short car drive away. With the new motorway from Kalamata to Athens it is very easy and quite quick (less than 2 hours) to get to places like Ancient Corinth and Mycenae......both very worth while visiting. There are lots of small pebbly beaches with tavernas all along the coast road at the bottom of the hill which are fun. To reach Navarino bay with all its history and beautiful sandy beaches(including Half Moon Bay) is about an hour and a half away....again, well worth it. We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa and have had the most lovely two weeks there.

Please think twice!

Just arrived at this so called villa yesterday. Everything was closed up and smelled musty. Don't let the reviews from 2008 or pictures deceive you. Nothing was cleaned and have plenty of pictures that I'd be happy to forward anyone. I wish I can leave tomorrow and get my money back! Is own talk day cleaning this house. There is only air condition in the bedrooms, not in the main common areas. The furniture is old and the beds are so thin and uncomfortable! For the money you will waste, I recommend getting a hotel! The housekeeper came yesterday only to take the motem and tell us it hasn't be working. Tried calling her today to ask when we will have wifi and she has not returned our message! Unacceptable for the money we have spent to stay here this week!

Family vacation

An amazing place to stay! We rented the villa with my extended family and had an amazing time. The villa is beautiful with a great view of Kalamata and the bay. It is a little drive from the city but definitely a reasonable distance to drive to get to several nice beaches. The nearby village has great tavernas (little bars/restaurants) with welcoming people. Just a note: Internet in Greece in general isn't great - the villa does have internet but it isn't the most reliable.

Simply Stunning

Our family of 9 Adults, 2 kids and an infant spent a week here in July. Needless to say, the pictures do NOT do this place justice. The view is breathtaking, the amenities are perfect. Les was amazing to work with, the caretaker Pam and her husband were just as accommodating. There was no WIFI the first day, but Pam quickly rectified that situation the next day with a new WIFI card. There was a care package of food and essentials in the fridge to get us started. The drive is about 10-15 minutes uphill from the Messinian Bay hotel, and the road is winding. There is a small village with amazing taverns just down the road from the villa. I would highly recommend this place for anyone traveling to Greece with a large group of people. Oh, and the pool was amazing!
