Histortic stay at historic cabin
Absolutely loved the cabin. Clean, fresh, historic and not too modern. Everything was working properly and you could tell the MANY ways that the owner made the effort to make things special. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone!

The perfect balance!
When getting away from civilization, my wife and I prefer rustic, but finding a good balance between being rustic and having hot water and electricity isn’t always easy. Cedar Camp, however, not only got the right balance, but has perfected it. This is a renovation/restoration of a historic cabin that doesn’t compromise on modern amenities nor sacrifice any of the 1930’s character and charm. This is also the most user-friendly vacation rental we’ve ever seen. The amount of thought and detail and creativity that went into making guests’ stays comfortable and convenient is over the top. The icing on the cake for us is all the tidbits of history scattered about the cabin – photos, articles, etc., history that links the current owner with the original builders. This adds to the very homey feel of the cabin, a very comfortable home away from home – which is how we felt from the minute we walked in.

Beautiful Family Cabin
We loved Cedar Camp! Just four of us but we can see there would be plenty of room for grandma and grandpa or cousins too! We loved reading about the camp’s history and appreciated having all of the things we would have at home. We decided to take an unplanned picnic lunch and were able to store sandwiches in the storage containers we found in the kitchen. ____The property is stunning and the house itself is adorable. The location is perfect for running around Mt Hood and up to Portland. ____Thank you for sharing your home!

Mt. Hood, Welches, Oregon
Cedar Camp was perfect. We loved all the old pictures about the history of the cabin and the family. Everything was very clean, organized and welcoming. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and using the Blackstone grill.

Pure Heaven
Let me start by saying that I had never heard of Welches, Oregon. Surprisingly, it is less than an hour from Portland and in an environment that is pure heaven (both inside and out)! It felt soooo remote and quiet – yet hiking, golfing, biking and skiing/snow shoeing were either right outside the door (literally) or just minutes away. I love the fact that actual relatives, of the original 1930s owners, purchased and COMPLETELY updated the place over the last couple years. The place very nicely remodeled and loaded with games, cooking items and upscale amenities (this is not a “Dollar Tree” remodel). You can tell the owners have a lot of pride / history in their place. I’m surprised they even rent it out! They call it “Cedar Camp”. Maybe that name was left over from the 1930s. Doesn’t seem like any “camp” I’ve even seen. Hard to call a place with fancy linens, a washer, dryer and dishwasher, a “camp”, HA! I don’t know what I liked better … the environment, the huge porch swing, the big fireplace and game room, or the cleanliness of the house. I’m planning to come back with a couple girlfriends on my next visit. Who says you need 7 people just because you have 4 bedrooms (and 4 baths). It’s priced well enough that it is perfect for a couple friends and large enough that everyone will have their own space. A winner! 5 star all around!

Grand Getaway!
What a grand getaway spot! It was so good to get out into the woods with our little one, and we went on several beautiful hikes just a short drive from here. Our baby is barely crawling, and the amenities for her were perfect--portable crib, high chair, baby-friendly dishes. We'd love to come back again when she's old enough not to need all the extra safety measures we've put in at home like furniture bumpers, socket protectors, knob locks, etc. Or we'll give in to Grandma and drop her off for the weekend--it's so quiet here you can hear the river run, unlike at home!

A fantastic getaway!
We had a great long weekend at Cedar Camp. It's located in a beautiful and peaceful neighborhood, and just a few minutes from stores and restaurants. We went for a couple of short hikes near Government Camp that were really pretty in the snow, and spent some time checking out Timberline lodge too. The cabin was very clean, and cozy with the propane fireplace. Everything worked well, and it was great to have a full kitchen so we didn't have to eat out for every meal. It was neat to see the history of the cabin through the photos and info hung on the walls. We would definitely come back!
