About this property

The Bunkie on Dog Lake, Rideau Canal.

We are located on Dog Lake, part of the Rideau Canal, just east of Kingston. Dog Lake has great fishing opportunities, boasts "massive amounts of bass". The Bunkie is charming and rustic, from the 1940's. It has 2 bedrooms + a double futon. Eat in kitchen with fridge n stove or enjoy the outdoor propane BBQ. Includes 2 paddleboards and a kayak. The kitchen is fully stocked. Indoor bathroom w/shower & an outdoor shower. Literally feet from the water, large rock frontage for a great swimming area. Take in the views and relax watching the swans and other wildlife is this truly authentic cottage experience.

There is fabulous restaurants & nightlife in both Kingston and Gananoque. Both are only 25 minutes away and offer boat cruises, casino's, plays, historical tours, waterfront parks for a picnic, ship tours, the list of things to do is long.

Bring food, drinks, beach towels, toothbrush otherwise, the Bunkie is completely stocked.

Great place to launch a kayak stand up board swim or bird watch
From the moment we arrived at the bunkie, which is really a cottage, we felt relaxed. First thing we saw in the water was a swan family swimming by. You wake up in the water view bedroom to the swans swimming by with their signets in the morning. The cottage was well stocked and welcoming, Mary-Beth and her husband Jack are excellent hosts. We will definitely return
