Enjoy this quaint tree lined neighborhood with streets made for walking, including a scenic walk around Lake Gertrude. Located exactly one mile from downtown Mount Dora - and around 7 minutes by car from Renningers Antique and Flea Market.
Fully furnished 1 Bedroom cottage adjacent to our home. Full kitchen including: refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, coffee maker and access to outdoor grill. Flat screen TV with Cable and wireless internet. Plenty of books to read, games and cards to play.
Recently renovated bathroom with walk-in shower and upgraded fixtures. Private bedroom with comfortable queen bed - sleeps 2. Dining room seats 6, as well as small kitchen table for 2 - either one perfect for games or dining!

Charming Cottage

Converted garage/workshop that is so adorable. We love the quietness and charm of the whole neighborhood. It was 3-4 minutes to downtown. Amenities were fantastic. Plenty of coffee, comfy bed, big couch and arm chair for lounging. Clean and fresh smelling. We will go again and again. Great place to stay if you visit Mt. Dora.

High hedges was wonderful.

Excellent Experience

The cottage was very clean, homey, and quiet. Very close to downtown Mount Dora. We enjoyed our weekend and the host is very communicative and nice. We would definitely stay there again.

The Perfect Stay

High Hedges offered all the amenities of home, right from when I first stepped through the door. The hosts' communication was proactive and ensured that anything I could need was available, right down to customizing snacks to my preferences. The bed was extremely comfy with different densities of pillows to choose from. The home was well-appointed with details and touches that felt quality, cared for, and therefore made me feel cared for. The neighborhood was quiet and well-kept. I could not have had a better experience in any way.

This cottage is one of the cleanest I’ve ever been in, it has everything in it and it’s all comfortable. We enjoyed A real relaxing time. Wood recommended or anybody who likes to relaxrelax and enjoy being in Mount Dora.

Quaint small town

Only a 20 minute walk to downtown area and the walk is thru nice residential areas. Also very close to a cement walking path around a lake you can see from the residence. Mount Dora's shops and restaurants made the trip to town worthwhile!

Very clean and stocked with everything needed to feel just like home. Beautiful neighborhood, very quiet, and very convenient to all shopping, restaurants, and Rennigers Antique Mall. We loved it and will go back.

Wonderful Cottage Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay especially the wonderful patio. So serene and peaceful! My only complaint if any, is the bed. It’s very squeaky. Every time my husband moved he woke me. A ceiling fan in the bedroom would be nice as well. But would definitely stay again.

Lovely cozy cottage

We were in Mt Dora for a long weekend visiting family, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! SO much more comfy and cost-effective than a hotel!! Our hosts left us welcome treats, and communication with them was easy and fast. We very much recommend High Hedges.

Great hosts

Barbara and Mace are perfect hosts. They go to great lengths to provide privacy and make you feel like a welcome guest in their home. Parking and check in instructions are clear and easy to follow and the cottage is clean, comfortable and thoughtfully stocked. When rain caused us to change our plans, we were very comfortable just hanging out at the cottage one day of our stay. The location worked well for us - just a short drive to downtown Mt Dora and easy access to the highway to visit family in the Eustis area. This was our first visit to Mt Dora and we hope to return in the near future.

Short Stay

We stayed from a Saturday to the following Tuesday, and were not there much as we have family living nearby. The cottage was hot when we arrived all window coverings closed so a little dark and not very welcoming. We opened the blind on the living room window and found a dead gecko on the window sill. Cleaned the window sill and threw out the gecko.
