About this property

Large Safari tent adjacent to the beach, following a nature trail to the river

Nature is your panoramic view! You may find that your perfect holiday is here within walking distance from your safari tent. Your private path to the nature trail takes you to an undisturbed beach, eagles and herons at the shoreline, seals bobbing, anglers fishing salt and fresh waters, the Oyster River and estuary, distillery farm fields, forest with old-growth, a variety of bird species, deer and field rabbits grazing (and even Humpback and Orcas have been sited close from beach this year). The area is like no other...Many nature lovers enjoy it here for the diversity of wildlife from the ocean, coast, forest edge and marshland all within walking distance. You're in the thick of it! And still only a short drive into Campbell River.

There is no compromise. The Glamping Beachcomber is close enough to everything you’re coming here for, yet miles away from anything familiar. A 15min drive to the city for more hiking and biking trails, wildlife tours, Quadra Island ferry, museum, restaurants, shopping, many activities, and swimming spots. Many of our visitors come to visit Strathcona Park, the oldest provincial park in BC. Having the choice to dine at the waterfront restaurant a few min walk down the beach, or al fresco on your own outdoor kitchen supplied with all the tools, makes for a unique vacation experience. This is a unique combination of rustic bliss and home comforts

Your large Safari Tent sits on a 900 sq’ wrap around fenced deck and is extensively furnished inside and out. In addition to the comfortable queen bed, 2 mattress & cots are available to put inside the tent at bedtime, or to use under a 10’x10’ canopy with detachable wall, or under the stars! From the deck you’ll catch the sun rising just after it hits the horizon, and enjoy watching it set over the trees in our field. The glamping site is in a safe place, with a private home nearby, but barely visible from your deck through some trees.

5min - Assemblance of civilization isn't far! tastings and tours at the distillery, or the essentials for groceries, liquor store, specialty coffees and medical clinic, are just beyond the nature trail, or a quick drive from your glamping site. Salmon Point boat launch is at the marina across the road.

10min - Sandy Saratoga Beach on the other side of the River, Mini-golf, 9-hole golf, Miracle Beach Provincial Park, Saratoga Speedway, bottom of Mt Washington

20min - North to Campbell River or. South 20 min to Courtenay.

The Glamping Beachcomber is adjacent to the Salish Sea, and welcomes you to its driftwood covered shores for a campfire, swim, flyfishing, beachcombing or merely a spot to relax and think about the day.

Cute,relaxing place near ocean
My family stayed at the safari beachcomber tent for 3 nights and we really enjoyed the quiet, peaceful environment, short trails to the ocean, and the firepit on the enclosed patio (which was brilliant for our small dog). The tent had everything we needed like a comfy bed, towels, utensils, bbq, stove, and warm shower!!! Mishel was very informative and helped us with our needs. Very convenient location, close to a restaurant, stores, coffee shop, and beautiful beaches. I highly recommend Mishel and her safari tent to anyone! to the ocean

Rustic but Glampy!
Out stay at the Beachcomber Glamper tent was great and just as expected! From the check in process to the accommodations themselves, to the supplies and amenities, we literally just brought food and clothes! We wish we could have spent more time there and will definitely be back!

While this land has been in our family for 42 years. we respectfully acknowledge it is a part of the unceded traditional territory of the Ligwiłda’xw people; the We Wai Kai, Wei Wai Kum, Kwiakah First Nations. We are thankful for them allowing us to live, work, and play on this land. My siblings and I have always felt grateful to grow up here. Though I've left various times throughout my life for university, work, family, or to live abroad, this is 'home'. My husband and I are here throughout the summer during some of our best of times, and enjoy other seasons in New Westminster, where we are close to our children.

My family cared for many animals here over the years. Now that we're all grown, it's much quieter here, hence more wildlife on the property for you to enjoy. Creating spaces is a passion of mine, and it's been a pleasure making this corner of the land into what it is now, knowing every Glamping Beachcomber will find an attachment to something here.
I may not always be able to be here to greet you. I am ALWAYS available by phone and messaging. And the handbook is extensive.

Why they chose this property

It's blissful here. Start the day gently with songbirds and your favorite morning routine - black coffee or Bailys and coffee. Hot shower or cold. Under cover or none.
Whether you're staying-put for the day on the deck reading from our diverse book selection, doing yoga, crosswords, cooking, or birdwatching, or trekking to where the river meets the sea on the nature trail, your senses will be calmly stimulated. Days well spent.
Creating this unique space to enjoy everything surrounding it, has been a joy.

What makes this property unique

We're in the very heart of nature, where you feel miles away from everything familiar, yet are still within walking distance to the conveniences of civilization. You can smell salt air, since the beach is 5min away. The beachfront restaurant is just 5min along the beach next to the marina where you can take a fishing tour. To smell the forest, salt water and fresh water all in one breath doesn't happen many places, but it's here!
