About this property
Bela Vista - Marlborough Holiday Home
Boasting breathtaking views of the Mahakipawa Arm, this retreat offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure for your next getaway. Step outside on the large balcony to soak up the sun and enjoy an unrivalled view of this serene part of Pelorus Sound. Indoors, enjoy a recently-renovated home in pristine condition.
The open-plan living area is a sun trap, but also has a wood-burning heater to stay cozy in the cooler months. There’s a separate dining area with a writer’s desk, while you can prepare delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances. A barbeque on the adjacent balcony gives you another cooking option. Retreat to the comfortable bedrooms where plush bedding ensures a restful night’s sleep. One bedroom, with a queen-sized bed, is a self-contained studio with its own bathroom and kitchenette – great for a light snack or quick refreshment! A large garden has native plants and plenty of fruit trees (help yourself to fruit during season). It slopes down to the waterfront, an ideal spot for kayaking.
When it’s time to venture out, you’ll find lots to do nearby. The historic town of Havelock is just a 10-minute drive away. Indulge in world-class seafood at one of the local restaurants or embark on a scenic cruise in the Sounds. For keen walkers, the house is right on the recently completed Link Pathway, which connects Havelock with Picton. It’s dotted with spots to stop for a picnic lunch. Meanwhile, the Cullen Point coastal walk is 5 minutes from the house, and the start of the famous Queen Charlotte Track is 10 minutes away. And, just down the road is Linkwater, where you can enjoy food and drink in a beautiful rural setting at the country tavern.
With so many options, from chilling out to hiking trails to wineries, Bela Vista is the perfect base for your Marlborough escape.
