Tiny Zahalka House by Tiny Away is located in the town of Daylesford, just an hour's drive from Melbourne and 41 minutes away from Ballarat. A vibrant city known for its contemporary arts, fabulous events, delectable food, and fascinating heritage. Hepburn Springs, Lake Daylesford and Daylesford Sunday Market are just a few nearby and recommended attractions our vacationers enjoy.
A charming and snug tiny house nestled amidst old pine trees that provide a picturesque view of the beautiful native bushland reserve of historic Cornish Hill. The soothing sounds of birdlife, such as kookaburras and magpies are abundant, and at night, you'll be lulled to sleep by the gentle murmur of Smith's Creek.
It's a 139-square-foot tiny home with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. This includes an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.
If you plan to spend your tiny house Victoria retreats here, we advise that you bring your necessities, such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you.
Please note: our policy and property amenities are strictly set to accommodate no more than 2 guests. If this rule is not followed, an additional fee will be charged to account for the extra occupancy or adjustments needed.
Guest Access:
Guests are restricted from entering the main house yard and instead use the path from the tiny house to the greenhouse/driveway to reach your car.
Guests will have access to the tiny house and the parking area, which is located at the end of the driveway, next to our greenhouse. They are also welcome to explore the veggie patch and use the railway carriage table under the birch trees for BBQs and picnics.
Please note: our policy and property amenities are strictly set to accommodate no more than 2 guests. If this rule is not followed, an additional fee will be charged to account for the extra occupancy or adjustments needed.

We are just an hour's drive away from Melbourne and only 41 minutes away from Ballarat. What's more, Daylesford’s will be hosting the CHILLOUT Festival, Words in Winter, and The Swiss Italian Festival.

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Cereal and porridge sachets provided for 1st-night-only

- You are welcome to use the gas BBQ grill. Please clean it after use
- Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone have good signals and the rest have no signal
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Around the two studios is our private space. Please do not enter main house yard under any circumstances. Kindly use the path from the Tiny House to the greenhouse/driveway to get to and from your car.
- Daylesford may experience power outages. Some tea light candles are provided to be used in glass holders but we recommend you bring a torch and a portable battery for your devices should you rely on them.
Guest Advisory
- Guests are required to pay a damage deposit of AUD 200 in cash directly to land host upon arrival. This will be returned in cash on the day of check-out. For inquiries, please directly contact the land host.
- Please be advised that this is a self-catering accommodation, and therefore, advise guests to bring their own provisions during their stay.
- We kindly request guests to take their bathroom rubbish, recycling, and kitchen rubbish with them when they leave. There are two bins provided outside. Please place the rubbish by the fence line or by the road if it's bin night.
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.
- Keep in mind that BBQ grill and outdoor fire pit are not available during fire restriction period
- Fire pit is to be used only from the months of June to October when there are no fire restrictions
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
