DETAILS: Ptarmigan Hideout is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo—with a loft—that sleeps 11, located within Ptarmigan Village on Big Mountain in Whitefish. Guests will love being a quick 15-minute drive from historic downtown Whitefish, with endless shopping and dining, as well as the condo’s wood-burning fireplace, open loft area, and outdoor entertainment space on the deck.

This exquisite tri-level condo, designed to provide all the comforts of home, welcomes guests inside with a spacious open floor plan on the main level. Tall ceilings, large windows, and beautiful wood accents showcase this retreat’s charm while evoking a warm and inviting ski lodge ambiance. Cozy up in the living area on the plush furniture situated near a wood-burning fireplace with a TV mounted overhead—perfect for gathering with friends and family. An adjacent, open kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare a delicious home-cooked meal, and the large island provides ample space for up to 4 people to dine comfortably. In the Summer, step outside onto the private deck, accessible right off the great room, and enjoy breathtaking wooded views of the surrounding area. Take advantage of the BBQ grill and outdoor seating, where guests can enjoy a delightful alfresco dining experience.

A charming spiral staircase leads guests upstairs to the open loft area with 2 full beds and gorgeous views from the windows.
Downstairs on the lower level is a guest bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an additional twin bed that provides plenty of space for families and their kids. There’s also a bunk room with a twin-over-twin bed and a queen bed that’s great for young adults or those young at heart.

Great spot in Ptarmigan
I have stayed at a handful of spots in Ptarmigan village and really enjoyed the location of this unit. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed the amenities of this spot—including the stocked firewood. The kitchen supplies were adequate, the bedding was comfortable, and enjoyed the fireplace in the winter. My only regret was not paying closer attention to the listing to realize that there is no dining table. The bar seating is adequate, but not quite the same. Overall we enjoyed this stay and would consider booking here again!

Loved the area! It’s very beautiful & peaceful. Hot tub is in a club house, which is 5 minutes walking. Cabin is part of a triplex.

We had 8 adults and it was a great fit. We also enjoyed the pool and spa facilities and the fishing pond near by. The private beach at the lake was a wonderful spot to float, swim and refresh ourselves.

Perfect!
My husband and I and our 4 kids shared this house with our friends and their 2 kids for the purpose of visiting Glacier National Park. There was plenty of sleeping space for all 10 of us. The kitchen was complete, we cooked breakfast and dinner every day. Our kids, especially, loved the pool and hot tub, both areas were extremely clean and nice. The house is only 20 min from downtown Whitefish, which was very fun to explore and 45 min from Glaciers west entrance. The only part that we were a little bit disappointed about was the private beach access. It was not easy to find in the first place and then it was much less beach than woods and water’s edge, lots of mosquitoes and not a beach that you could spend a relaxing day at.

Excellent rental!
Our family of 5 stayed in this rental which worked out great as we were there for a week. The home was stocked for daily cooking which saved from going out to eat. There were plenty of beds in the home to accommodate us! The indoor pool was a very brief walk which was great we did not have to drive. The home is located near Whitefish Mountain Resort and a short drive to West Glacier National Park. Thank you for making our week! :)
