A lovely wood wooden house on top of a mountain with beautiful unobstructed views. Comfortable beds, magnificent, living room, and fully equipped kitchen made our stay perfect.
Loved that it’s secluded and very roomy for a couple of families. The lodge was very nicely decorated for Christmas and welcoming for our toddler. The area of Hot Springs and Warm Springs was very festive and a nice area. Would definitely stay at the property again if we return to the area.
This was a lovely getaway space with plenty of distance from neighbors. We really enjoyed the screened-in porch and crows nest views. We had everything we needed and it was very clean
Other reviews on this awesome property are accurate. Clean, well stocked retreat in the Hot Springs / Warm Springs area. Although secluded, it is convenient to Hot Springs (10 minutes) and Warm Springs (less than 15 minutes). Complimentary wood for fireplace great bonus. First class accomodations in peaceful setting!
We enjoyed our stay even though the weather wasn't great at the beginning. The crow's nest is a wonderful place to take in the views and we even saw a rainbow once the storms had cleared. Unfortunately, the homestead didn't have skiing during our stay but we did head out to Winterplace to ski. We would love to come back and enjoy the house during the summer.
Thank you for allowing us to stay at your gorgeous house. Rarely can one find such a well-built home with ample attentions to the details.
When we arrived at the Christmas eve, we found the house nicely decorated with candles lit and a touch of added seasonal treats.
We particularly enjoyed the beautiful fireplace, the well-stocked kitchen, the winding stairs leading to the crow's nest with a 360 degrees view of the surrounding forest. The kids were fascinated by the different varieties of the chicken pictures on the wall and the great collection of books.
What a tranquil and rejuvenating experience we had for this holiday! This must be what it feels to be in the paradise. We would like to stay again in the future.
The house had everything we needed for a great long weekend getaway. We especially loved the crow’s nest and the views. We would definitely consider staying here again.
Our family enjoyed a magical Thanksgiving getaway in your warm and inviting mountain home. The setting was absolutely perfect and your well appointed kitchen was greatly appreciated! Instead of the usual Turkey, I made rack of lamb and broiled lobster tails for the four of us. It was delicious! We spent the weekend playing games, reading, hiking the gorgeous property and visiting the Homestead for an obligatory family photo by the Christmas tree. Rest assured, we will be back.
This is a beautifully built and maintained home at the top of a heavily wooded mountain in Hot Springs, Virginia, near the Omni Homestead resort. Privacy abounds.
There has been careful attention by the owners to make every aspect of your stay as relaxing and carefree as possible. The beds, interior furniture, porch furniture and appliances were in wonderful, shape, and very clean.
The kitchen as well stocked.
Although cell phone service was a little spotty, their Wi-Fi worked just fine. The front steps into the home may be a little challenging for someone who has ambulation issues, but the paths are well lit, and easy to maneuver.
Make make sure you set your GPS before you leave the town of Hot Springs, or before you leave the house itself. You will not be able to connect midway.
The owners do provide detailed driving directions but if you’re like us, it’s reassuring to have the GPS helping out, especially on winding, steep and at times, one lane roads.
I highly recommend this as a getaway destination!
Our family had a wonderful vacation and the lodge felt like being at home - it had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location was exceptional with very nice trails to explore. The home was beautiful. We all want to visit again.
We chose this spot for what we thought would be a break from our busy, noisy, work and home lives - it did not disappoint. I cannot think of a quieter spot to relax and reflect, with space for together time and solitary time (the CROW'S NEST!). Paths abound outside the door and the house had everything we needed and is beautifully appointed. While excellent restaurants are near by we cooked every day in the well stocked kitchen, marveled at the comfy beds, reveled in the view from the deck where even THAT furniture was perfect.
We had massages at the Warm Springs Spa ( great quality and. affordable), hiked some other trails, and found the 25 yard walk to the nearby Falling Springs waterfall a treat too. This property is truly a slice of heaven!
This was the most amazing house I have stayed at. The owners clearly made this house with care. The location was just as described - close to Hot Springs, but high enough in the hills that you can't see or hear anyone else.
The house itself was so beautifully arranged and decorated. The little extras were all there - hardwood floors, real tile, Ninja coffee pot, three-ply toilet paper - I mean everything!
We slept so well there and extended our stay an extra night. Eventually we had to go back though - real life calls. I hope to go back and visit again.
What a beautiful getaway…the house was decorated in full on cabin decor and the kitchen was complete with all the necessary gadgets and appliances for ones who like to cook (our whole family). The trails were fun, the access to the Homestead was so easy and we took advantage of some local outstanding restaurants that were close by. We will definitely make our trek to Winding Ridge a recurring vacation spot…perfect for our dogs and for our people!
We rented the house while attending a meeting close by and it was perfect for our needs. The kitchen is well appointed, and the fireplace is warm and welcoming. The views all the way around from the porches are fabulous. We can’t wait to come back!
Our family traveled here from different states to enjoy some time together and this house was everything we needed and wanted! A beautiful home with stunning views and it comes stocked with anything you could ever need. We hope to visit again soon!
We had family coming to visit we've not seen in 5+ years due to distance and COVID. Needed a place we could all be, yet not onto of each other (i.e. my house). The location was beautiful and everyone had a bed (3 teens, two married couples and a 12yo). The kitchen was fully stocked with all you need for preparing meals - not always the case at a rental, the fire pit and crows nest were excellent to sit, relax, play games. Highly recommend.
This home is beautiful inside with beautiful views outside. We had 6 adults stay here and we made such great memories. We cooked in the beautiful kitchen, played games on the screened in porch, watched movies in the family room, played corn hole on the hill, hung out in the crows nest. It’s so quiet at this house, no neighbors, just beautiful views of the surrounding hills. The porches are amazing. Our dog Simba came too and loved running free in and outside. If you are looking for quality family time don’t hesitate book this home. You will build lasting memories here.
