The Chapel- A Unique Stay- Restored 19th Century Chapel

The Chapel is a unique & peaceful place from which to explore what the Far North has to offer.
A 19th Century converted Methodist church sympathetically restored to a comfortable & stylish retreat for two only. Should another couple wish to join you then the adjacent property "Harbour View" is available also.
With decks looking out onto the stunning Hokianga countryside & Harbour, private garden, comfortable living space with fully fitted kitchen, bedroom & shower room & private parking.
A comfortable living room with original matai floor, woodburner, TV, WIFI, fully equipped fitted kitchen & dining area. The Chapel has the work of local artists displayed, games & books to enjoy. There are 2 spacious decks with outdoor furniture on which to relax & enjoy the stunning views of the Hokianga countryside & harbour whilst sipping something cool.
There is a local shop In Kohukohu & a larger shop over the water on the regular ferry at Rawene or Opononi.

Most welcome
We arrived around 7pm the fire was roaring and the chapel was delightful. Fresh baked cake on bench. Owners went over and above to make us welcome. Beautiful place to recharge

We aim to ensure you have a relaxed stay at this beautiful retreat only disturbed by the sounds of the local birdlife and meandering cows.

Within easy reach are the historic & beautiful destinations of Russell, Waitangi, Paihia, Cape Reinga & Mitimiti.

The Chapel is a unique property which has been sympathetically restored to it's current glory. The accommodation is sumptuous & comfortable with everything to fulfil a guests requirements. There are several original & upcycled items in The Chapel & artwork with a local interest. The 2 decks are positioned so our guests can enjoy either the Harbour & countryside views or those of the well kept gardens in which it stands which you are free to wander around & enjoy.
