About this property

Albert Road Cottage: Comfy, vintage home near water & town

Experience a bygone era where domestic life was one of both calm and joyful class - the house represents the optimism of the post-war era. The original features and unique items in the house provide ambience, comfort and interest. The house can accommodate up to 7 people in 4 beds. It's one block from the estuary (Stayz shows the location incorrectly).

There is off street parking for 4 vehicles. Your own caravan can be parked up with access to power and a water hose, by prior arrangement.

It's one block from the estuary where you can fish and an easy walk into town. There's also cycling tracks.

The historic 1940s caravan was featured in WA author Tim Winton's Cloudstreet and is a gorgeous spot to sleep or chill with friends. It's set up with facilities to serve a drink or tea.

The cottage kitchen is perfect for cooking and will meet all your needs. An oven, microwave, rice cooker, slow cooker, food processor and small size dishwasher etc ensure that you can cook or bake to your heart's content. A lavazzo coffee pod machine and milk frother are provided and salt, pepper, spices, oil etc and milk to cover you that first morning.

An original Metters stove and large gas BBQ are provided outside, with an eating area and sofa to relax under the verandah. Fill the cast iron bath in the garden to cool down.

The shared outdoors laundry includes a large top loader washing machine and a dryer.

There are books, board games and some toys for children. You could also loan the Stand Up Paddle board that can fit an adult and two children.

All bedrooms have wardrobe space.

Behaved pets would be welcomed and accommodated by prior arrangement. We have provided doggie daycare for some of our working guests.

Let me know your family or group details so I can ensure the house is set up perfectly for you.

A caretaker is present in a separate annex with separate amenities. There are no shared areas, except for the laundry. Your absolute privacy is assured and your area is locked.

Also consider looking at my Ocean Drive Home, my 70s inspired home that accommodates 8 with a large outdoor area.

If you are staying more than a few days, a cleaner can do a refresh for a cleaning fee. Late and early check ins are available. Please request if required.

Great location. Able to walk into town, Leschenault inlet and Parade Hotel.

The charm of this house is obvious. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Found a hairdresser in the homemaker centre 10 mins walk down the road. The owner Christine was attentive whenever needed. Downside..We were told of a shared laundry with the unit out the back. That turned out to be directly out of the kitchen door (which is securely locked from our side) onto an enclosed kitchen/ bathroom/bedroom area. We have family in Bunbury so could use their laundry facilities as we were a long-term stay.

Perfect for our stay in Bunbury

We had a great stay at Albert Road. The quaint little cottage was like taking a step back in time and we loved seeing furniture and decor from our childhood. It was a trip down memory lane 😊 The location was perfect for us and it really good that we could bring our dog with us. There is a nice outdoor grassed area for your little ones to explore. Christine was super helpful and very responsive to all our messages. I highly recommend staying here especially if you have a dog. We will be back if we need to stay in Bunbury again.
