Maddies is an unassuming country home built in the late 1800's. Boasting polished wooden floors, high ceilings, quality linen, and period furnishings which all add to the old world charm. In winter curl up by the log fire with a good book or glass of wine. In summer enjoy the leafy gardens and shady verandahs. Maddies is set in an acre of lovely cottage gardens. Meander through the vine covered arbour, past water gardens, and enjoy the relaxed privacy of this unique setting. We are pet lovers ourselves and your pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Three rooms are specifically set up for you to bring your furry companion.

About the host

Your host

We found this humble house that felt like home and began renovations with our father in 1997. It has been "a labour of love" restoring the details and upgrading the accommodation to be sympathetic with the old world charm of the original building. We have created extensive cottage and water gardens to relax in. Being the longest continuously operating B&B in Maitland we have meet lots of beautiful people and been able to share or love of good food.

Why they chose this property

Bolwarra is a lovely leafy suburb of Maitland full of Arcihitecture from the late 1800's and early 1900"s. It is centrally located to visit Morpeth, Dungog/Barrington, Port Stephens/ Newcastle, Pokolbin/wine country
