About this property

Remodelled historic suite w/nautical boho decor, in the UNESCO Town of Lunenburg

Welcome to The Captain's Suite. Have fun with the whole family at this stylish place. Located only minutes from the Lunenburg waterfront and walking distance to Lightship Brewery and The Barn Cafe. This spacious second level 3 bedroom flat has everything you need to enjoy your stay in the Historic Town of Lunenburg, in Nova Scotia's beautiful South Shore. A fully equipped kitchen, nautical/boho decorated interior and private secluded patio make this the perfect home base to relax during your stay while you explore the area.
Located near Lunenburg's sport facilities, golf course, grocery store, farmers market and high school. Less than a 10 minutes walk from the downtown waterfront, restaurants and tourist attractions.

About this property:

This is a recently renovated and beautifully decorated 3 bedroom suite, located on the second floor of a 100+year old historic Lunenburg house.

Named the Captains Suite after the hosts late grandfather, who was a well know captain of a scallop dragger in the town. He lived in the downstairs of this house which he restored in the 1990's. His grandson (your host) has now renovated and updated the suite with a nautical theme and welcomes you to stay and enjoy this space.

This private suite has it's own separate entrance (FYI there is a large set of stairs to get to the entrance, so people with mobility issues may want to reconsider).

Enjoy the surprisingly private and beautiful nature views through the large glass windows or while you sit out on the rear outdoor deck, which has plenty of patio furniture and dining space to enjoy spending time, relaxing, sun soaking and eating meals on. At night you can enjoy the propane fire pit while stargazing at the beautiful night sky.

There is a large living and dinning room combo, with a dinning table to seat 6 people and tv with internet streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, and many live streaming shows.

The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge/freezer, electric cooktop stove and oven, microwave and dishwasher. All cutlery, plates, glasses and cooking essentials are provided.

There are 3 bedrooms: one with a king size bed, one with a queen size bed and one with a bunk bed that contains a twin mattress on the bottom and a single on the top.

The bathroom has in-floor heating, a shower and large bathtub nook, perfect for soaking and relaxing in.

The suite also has a washer and drier which you are able to use for laundry.

There is parking on site for 2 vehicles and free street parking is available nearby if extra parking is required. During July and August there is also free street parking available directly in front of the house.

We are sorry but we cannot allow pets at this suite.

Please note that this is a second level suite. The ground-floor space is a completely separate dwelling, where our co-host Cassie lives. Cassie and her husband Ben will be available most days should you need any assistance. Due to this being a second-level suite, there is no yard space available and we ask quests to be mindful that there are people living below and ask to not host parties or be noisy after the designated quiet time of 10pm.

Also, we want to inform guests that there is currently construction happening to the building next door to our house during the weekdays. Although most guests have told us that it wasn't a bother to them, there is sometimes noise coming from the site during the day, and we want to make potential guests aware.

Great property, great host
We enjoyed our five-day stay in Chad's home with our toddler and some family friends. Property is exactly as described in the listing. It's clean, comfortable and well-located in Lunenburg. Communication with Chad was great, and he was quick to assist us when we had questions. Strongly recommended, we would book this property again.

Excellent rental property!
Excellent rental property in a fantastic location for exploring the Lunenberg area. Beds were extremely comfortable, bathroom was spacious, and the sun deck was fantastic. The owner really takes pride in this property, and it shows in all the little and thoughtful attentions to detail. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely stay again.
