About this property
Peaceful family getaway on beautiful Eagle Lake
Our cottage sits on a calm, quiet bay and enjoys stunning views of Eagle Lake: we have a canoe, two kayaks, and a paddle board along with lots of lawn games (Bocce Ball etc.). It's a spring fed lake and the water is clear and excellent for swimming and fishing. The deck is very spacious for spending time together, sunbathing, barbequing and dining. Every room has been renovated for a comfortable stay. There is large cook's kitchen with plenty of counter space (dishwasher, electric stove, microwave), gas fireplace and electric baseboard heating , ceiling fans in nearly every room (along with window units), and a living room that can seat seven with satellite television that includes CNN, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, etc.
The Country Store is a short drive for any forgotten items or to try their amazing ice cream. Recreational opportunities abound, and include a 12-hole golf course and the Forgotten Trails.

About the host
Hosted by Siobain Matys
My parents bought this cottage twenty plus years ago, and my dad lovingly rebuilt it with his engineering experience and his recruitment of us as his helpers (particularly my husband). It's been a family gathering place for us and our extended families for decades, and we love everything about being at the lake.
Hosting in July gives other families an opportunity to enjoy it as much as we do, and helps us with the maintenance costs.

Why they chose this property
We camped at Mikisew Provincial Park for more than 20 years and my parents loved Eagle Lake, so when the opportunity to buy a cottage there arose, they moved on it.
What makes this property unique
Being on a quiet bay on this lake makes it perfect for young children or anyone interested in swimming or kayaking, canoeing, etc. We have a big front yard (facing the lake) for badminton, Bocce ball, water gun fights (all this is stored in an accessible shed near the water), etc. There is fire pit as well to enjoy those clear starry skies and occasional sighting of the Northern Lights. Neighbours have become like family.
