Welcome to Getaway Bay, a modernized 4-bedroom cottage nestled on the serene shores of Kawagama Lake, near Dorset, Ontario. The main level of the cottage features a well-equipped kitchen, making meal preparation a breeze, and a spacious living room where you can unwind and enjoy the serene lake views. Two of the four cozy bedrooms are located on this floor, providing convenient sleeping arrangements. A modern 4-piece bathroom ensures that everyone has ample space and comfort. Adjacent to the living room, you’ll find a screened room, an ideal spot for enjoying your morning coffee or evening drinks while being immersed in the sounds of nature. Step outside from the living room onto the deck, complete with a BBQ area, perfect for outdoor dining and enjoying the fresh air.

The lower level of Getaway Bay offers additional space for relaxation and entertainment. Here, you'll find two more well-appointed bedrooms, making it perfect for accommodating larger groups or families. The family room on this level provides a cozy space for movie nights or game sessions, ensuring everyone has a place to gather and have fun. A convenient laundry area is also located on this floor, making it easy to keep up with any washing needs during your stay. The lower level also features a walkout to another deck area, furnished with comfortable seating where you can relax and take in the tranquil lake views.

The waterfront at Getaway Bay is a true highlight, with stairs leading down to a spacious, multi-component dock. Here, you'll find another BBQ and a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The dock is equipped with plenty of seating, making it an ideal spot for sunbathing, socializing, or simply enjoying the beautiful lake views. Guests can take advantage of the canoe and pair of kayaks available for use, adding an element of adventure to their stay. Between the cottage and the waterfront, there are seating areas and a fire pit, providing wonderful spots to gather, roast marshmallows, and share stories under the stars. Please note that the number of stairs required to access the waterfront may make this property unsuitable for those with mobility concerns.

Please note that the projector is a fun outdoor family night activity but please be mindful of the 11 pm noise bylaw in the area
Waterfront
The cottage waterfront has no beach. The entry is sand and rock, entering into more silty/muddy bottom as you go farther out. It’s approximately 12 feet deep off dock. There are few to no weeds.

Close-By Attractions
Dorset Lookout Tower. Visitors are welcome to climb to the observation deck, which is 142 metres (465 feet) above Lake of Bays, and enjoy the view from the tree-top lookout as well as ground level lookouts.(15 mins)

Algonquin Highlands Forest Management Trails. There are 9.5 km of looped trails. The Fire Tower and Lakeshore trails are good for beginners, and more experienced hikers/snowshoers will enjoy the remaining three trails. The Vista trail provides an excellent view of Lake St. Nora and the Algonquin Highlands Landscape. (20 mins)

Robinson’s General Store.This famous general store is a "must-see" for anyone visiting the Muskoka or Haliburton area. The store has been in operation since 1921, and now sprawls over 14,000 sq.ft. of retail space. (15 mins)

Algonquin Provincial Park.Algonquin Provincial Park has 7,635 square kilometres of forests, bogs, lakes and rivers. There are many hiking trails, a Discovery Program, Visitor's Centre, Logging Museum and Art Centre at the Park. (40 mins)

Bigwind Island Golf Course. Nestled within a private island paradise on Lake of Bays, Bigwin Island Golf Club is an exceptional golf experience in a spectacular setting. (25 mins)
