Welcome to Kauri Retreat 3 ! Just a half-hour drive North of Auckland CBD, the retreat finds itself in a tranquil and unique Kauri bush which boasts a diverse array of native trees; an attraction to a rich variety of native birds such as the Kēreru (Wood Pigeon), Pīwakaka (Fantail), Tūi, and more.
When life gets too busy, this tiny house New Zealand retreat provides a nice escape. Having the sound of birds flying overhead as you sit amongst the Kauri bush is truly magical!
The Space:
The Kauri Retreat 3 is a 139-square-foot tiny home in the countryside of Waitoki with glistening, calm pond views and a spacious lawn area for your family and children to unwind.
A safe sanctuary with a beautifully wrought iron gate fenced by the Kauri trees, and just 36 minutes away from Auckland. Along with several stunning beaches in the area such as Browns Bay, Long Bay, and Takapuna Beach, all while being just a stone's throw away from the excitement of the Eventfinda Stadium and its many upcoming events from February to November.
It's one of the best tiny homes in Waitoki with with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that there are two tiny houses called "The Kauri Retreat 1 and 2 " that sit on the same property. If you want to book in groups, please contact your land host 24 hrs in advance to make arrangements.
Guest Access:
Guests will have full private access to the tiny house. For your safety and for the health of the native Kauri, the bush area should not be entered without the owner's permission as it is a sensitive and protected area.

The Kauri Retreat 3 is a handy countryside spot by rural Waitoki with exciting locales around the corner, just a 20 minute drive from Orewa and a 36 minutes drive to Auckland. Experience golden beaches, adventure parks, small-town friendliness and urban forests as you explore the expansive region of Silverdale and Waitoki.

- Browns Bay is known for its stunning bay beach, and incredible Sabayjai Thai Massage.
- Takapuna Beach is another vibrant beachside destination, only 10 minutes from Auckland's CBD.
- Riverhead Forest is an urban forest tucked between farmland and expanding greenfields, perfect for cycling, and bushwalks.
- Long Bay is a stunning stretch of beach, perfect for picnics, swimming, and is near Long Bay-Okura Marine Reserve, which provides amazing watersports.
- Onepoto Domain has a bark play surface spread out among shrubs and bushes. An outdoor playground with natural play equipment, a cycling track, a large slide, and more.
- Adventure Park Auckland is an entertainment park that attracts all walks of life, from adrenaline-pumping rides to activities for the family, there is something for everyone.
- Eventfinda Stadium is an indoor arena that hosts both boxing matches and live music performances. Some notable past performers include Bob Dylan, Sting, Macy Gray, and Green Day.
- Orewa Beach (15 minutes away) is a serene coastal retreat with pristine white sands and clear waters. Stretching three kilometers, it's perfect for leisurely walks, sunbathing, picnicking, water sports, and nearby dining and shopping.
- Wainui Golf Course (5 minutes away) offers fine dining, a top-tier golf course, and a social hub. The 18-hole championship course features rolling hills, waterways, and 80-year-old pines.

Getting Around:
By car:
-From Auckland CBD, it’s a 30 minutes drive off-peak time, 32 km.
-From the nearest town Silverdale, it’s a 10 minutes drive, 10km.
-From Orewa, it’s a 14 minutes drive, 14km.
-From Albany, it’s a drive of 18 minutes, 18km.
-Reachable by both 2WD and 4WD.
By public transport:
-From Auckland CBD, take NXT1 to Hibiscus Coast Bus Centre (end to end), we can pick up the guests from Hibiscus Coast Bus center.

- Free potable water
- Wifi is not available
- Pets are not allowed
- Gas BBQ grill is available
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- No smoking allowed; there are designated smoking areas.
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality.
- Mobile Reception for Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark is good; Telstra and Optus has no signals.
- Complimentary breakfast amenities are provided, including yogurt, milk, bottled water, bread, chocolate drink, cereals, and jam.
- Don’t forget to close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/property.
- Make sure to turn off the lights, air conditioning, and electronics (e.g., especially chargers).
- We would like to advise guests that extended stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.
Important note:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban.
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
