About the host
Hosted by Ashley SHI
Herbert and I are internationalists. I was an opera singer, and Herbert was a Doctor of History and Archaeology. We like music, art, tea ceremonies, reading, cooking, and gardening. We have been living in Taupo for over six years and enjoy the peaceful life here. We like to share our private manor and lifestyle with visitors.
Why they chose this property
Taupo is the most famous tourist destination in the central part of the North Island in New Zealand. It is a town situated on the edge of a lake. If you look at a map, you will find that Taupo is located around the huge Lake Taupo. It is a lively yet peaceful place where many people from different countries live and visit.
What makes this property unique
Acacia Bay Lodge, a private manor, is located on the gentle slope of the lakefront hill in Acacia Bay. The distant mountains on the other side of the lake serve as a backdrop, offering views of a corner of the town and the great lake. The garden has been carefully maintained for nearly 40 years. Each season in the garden is distinct, with flowers, trees, birds, and insects enhancing the beauty of one another. It is a home with stories, providing a space for the body and mind to breathe freely.
