About this property

VIEWS, VIEWS, VIEWS at Casa TESORO

Casa Tesoro, which means, Treasure house is located within minutes to Old Town, Downtown, The Bosque bike and hike Trails, Petroglyphs, Volcanoes and is within easy access to the Balloon Festival park. Yet it sits peacefully on the quiet west side of Ladera Golf Course, allowing for fabulous sunset and sunrise views of The Sandia Mountain range. Watch the balloons drift by almost daily throughout the year. (Sometimes they land right out the back) This patio home has three bedrooms, along with a sitting room with a full size couch that clicks into a fullsize bed that could also accommodate one to two additional people.

If entertaining is what you like to do, the dining room sits up to 10 people, and has gorgeous views of the mountains. We love sitting in the backyard patio watching the birds, bunnies and assorted little wildlife dramas take place, and watching sunsets color the mountains during dinner. Many amenities, including washer and dryer, grills, fully stocked kitchen, high end bed linens, three flatscreen TV's, comfortable furnishings, and a quiet, graceful decor make for a great stay here in Albuquerque.

We have stayed in VRBO properties ourselves, and understand what people want in a good vacation rental. We are also nearby to greet you and help you with any information you need to make your stay successful and FUN!

Balloon Fiesta!! We have an excellent location in terms of getting to and from the balloon fiesta. 5 night minimum over one weekend or the other. if you stay the entire 10 days of balloon fiesta, there is a discount available. Please contact us for details.

Great views, quiet safe neighborhood
Very comfortable and clean home. We enjoyed the view of the mountains and balloons landing on the golf course and flying overhead. Karen was very quick to respond to any questions. All the essentials were provided. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the home and location. Very quiet and enjoyed starting our day with air balloons drifting by our patio. Karen is a great host and communication was excellent. We plan on returning and our stay confirmed our decision to retire here and hopefully in this neighborhood.

relaxing spot on the edge of town
Larger than we expected, well kept, feels very homey. We loved the views and the little wildlife in the mornings once we put fresh food out for them. Fully equipped kitchen was nice, and put to good use. Hosts were great, responsive. Place is close (driving) to things to do and places to eat. Tip: Tenampa (just south) had the best sopaipillas we found. On the down side, the den would not cool off, so we went to Walmart, bought a cheap fan, and kept it blowing air through the den doorway. The sofa-bed in the den was not supportive enough to handle our teen boy comfortably, but he survived. The master bed was softer than we prefer also. Points of clarity: The den is connected to the master bedroom by glass French doors with curtains and blinds. Kinda different but it works. This is a duplex, but we never heard the neighbors on that side.

Extremely clean, very well furnished, great back yard patio area backs up to Ladera Golf Course, beautiful views of Sandia mountains, conveniently located within 5 or 6 minutes of I-40 enabling fast access to any part of the city. I HIGHLY recommend this property. Karen is super responsive and provided all amenities for a great stay.

Salute to Morning Coffee, Safe Landings, and Adventures
The first morning, coffee in hand, we were sitting on the veranda overlooking the golf course when seven hot air balloons appeared. To our surprise one balloon landed on the course directly behind the house. That was the first of many pleasant surprises that we experienced during our weeklong stay. A very attentive hostess, well equipped kitchen, easy access to restaurants, petroglyphs, and Santa Fe less than an hour away for the occasional day trip.

Very enjoyable experience
My friend and I stayed at the house while attending a conference at the Hotel Albuquerque. We were very conveniently located to the hotel, numerous good restaurants, grocery stores and the Petroglyph National Monument. The house was clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the quail families who visited the bird feeders in the garden! One additional plus is the beautiful mountain view from the back windows. Very enjoyable experience!

Just right
For us this property was the right size. It has an amazing view of the sunrise over the mountains every day. It is within 15 minutes of much of Albuquerque, like old town, down town, and the north side too. Loved the stay here.

perfect location
Very lovely neighbors on either side. The golf course in back was really beautiful in the morning and my husband enjoyed playing there a couple of times a week. The location was great for exploring the city although it is a town for a car and not walking. That is unless you are walking the Bosque, which was a saving grace in the mornings for our long walks with our dog. It was a hot month and that was just a 10 minute drive to park and walk. We counted about 35 species of birds on our walks, some porcupines and many other critters. We enjoyed our stay and the hosts were wonderful to deal with.

Great staycation!
We had a wonderful time during our stay, Karen was incredibly easy to stay in touch with and so quick to respond! The house was very comfortable, spacious and clean, with a lovely back patio and garden for morning coffees and a night cap or two. We stayed with my boyfriend, his family and our dogs and enjoyed all the nearby hiking trails and dog parks. It's in a nice and quiet area not very far from all the action in Albuquerque, we would happily stay again next time we're in the area!

For a perfect New Mexico stay
We spent a couple of months here to get out of the Texas summer, to spend time with family, and to have Mexican food...all while being safe and responsible. This home was perfect! As native New Mexicans this home provides just enough in decor, a million dollar view, and a lovely neighborhood to take walks. And as an amateur birder have thoroughly enjoyed the Gambel quail, hawks, and other birds. A true gem!

Home was clean, easy to enter and exit daily, and Karen always answered so fast anytime I had a question or left a comment. Neighborhood was very nice and we felt safe. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and made friends with the local hummingbirds and quail that frequented each evening. Thank you!

Memories that will last a lifetime
Staying at El Torro was one of our most memorable trips in 40 years. The house was perfect, for our stay. Well cared for, clean, comfortable, and decorated wonderfully. also located close to most all attractions we wanted to take in. The Ballon Fiesta was more than we ever expected and the time with my husbands brother and wife were priceless. We hope to be able to return again! Well appointed and relaxing
We had a wonderful stay enjoying an occasional barbecued dinners on the back patio with a beautiful backdrop of the golf course and the mountain range in the background. In the mornings while having breakfast on the back patio, we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and a large variety of other birds eating from the feeders and feeding their babies in nearby nests. Relaxing with a glass of wine at dusk allowed us to see a bunny and even a coyote passing by on the nearby path all while watching the sun set on the beautiful mountain range. The home is close enough to I-40 to allow easy access to downtown ABQ and I-25. It was easy access to Coors Blvd which got us over to Corrales area for great shopping and dining. And when we weren’t busy going to and fro, we enjoyed watching a movie and relaxing in the living room with the soft lighting from the candles in the fireplace. Great ambiance. I will be daydreaming about these moments for many years as the stresses of life weave their way back in. Thank you for opening your beautiful home to our family and allowing us to make such wonderful memories.

John and I were coming to albuqeurque for the last few years during the winters and fell in love with the area. We are kept busy exploring the area and marvel at how diverse the area is. Want to ski? Go to Sandias. Want Hot springs? Museums? Hiking? Pueblos? Great dining and shopping? It's here! We love it.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property for the location, the views, the safe neighborhood and the closeness to the Bosque trails and Old town. We also liked the lay out of the house with the floor to ceiling windows overlooking the golf course.

What makes this property unique

With 12 foot ceilings, large windows, and a great layout, all on one floor, we fell in love with the feeling of spacousness. It was important for us to have a house that was in a quiet neighborhood, yet we are able to bike to most places we want to go within minutes. We love sitting in the backyard with the open sky and mountain views.
