An amazing place to slow down with friends and get lost in the view of the ocean waves! Hot tub was relaxing and access to the ocean was a bonus! Would stay again!
Surfside Cottage is so comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The location and view is unsurpassed. We had a wonderful time and did not want to leave. A beautiful piece of property. It is in a good location in that Sooke and the hiking trails are an easy drive. Note that the second bathroom is accessible by going outside and down some stairs; a detail we missed in the property description. A wonderful vacation!
We’ve stayed here a few times and plan on coming back in the near future. Always such a relaxing time. No whales this time but lots of sea lions

The setting was magnificent other than the host trailer perched over you. I have used VRBO over 15 times for the reasons of privacy NOT HERE

Very comfortable, very clean, well equipped and very well managed. The view from one of three decks is picture postcard! Relaxing in the hot tub while looking at the wonderful view is special! A wonderful place to relax and enjoy all the beaches and hiking of the southwest coast of the island. Hope to return!
If the posting on the VRBO site looks good to you, be prepared - the actual property is even better when you're there in person. Of all the vacation rentals that we have stayed in over many years, this ranks right up there with the very best. The amenities have everything that you could wish for - there wasn't a single thing that we could think of as being something that was lacking. The beds were really comfortable (we didn't use the third bedroom - but it looked like it would be fine for maybe teens or pre-teens). Communication with Ines was excellent - prompt & totally easy while still giving us privacy. As a base for exploring the coast as far as Port Renfrew to the north, as well as in the other direction to Victoria, this is an excellent location (you just have to have some patience with the Sooke traffic!) If you just want a spot to relax & "chill" with a "to die for" view, then you can't go wrong with Surfside Cottage. The decks & the hot tub provide a wonderful opportunity to watch the marine life & the shipping traffic; if you do get some west-coast rain, then the picture windows & the fireplace (wood provided) are a great (& cozy) alternative. We'd love to think that we might be back here again one day.
Otter point where all the creatures come out to play
Fantastic stay and lovely property. I would stay there again. It sleeps 6 but only 5 beds. Easy check out and check in. Private beach and hot tub were excellent.
If a water view and hearing the waves crash onto the shore then this is the place for you. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at this great property. The hot tub was an added tub was a bonus.
Our group of 4 adults stayed in this well appointed cottage. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable.
There were lots of windows so not only was it light it presented fabulous views across Juan De Fuca bay.
There were also plenty of outside areas to sit that had glass screens to create wind breaks.
We saw sea lions and dolphins. Also had Bald Eagles fly over. Fabulous property!
Beautiful location, clean, and well equipped that made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Enjoyed watching the ships in the distance and the sea life. Thank you for sharing this special place.
Had a lovely long weekend stay with a group of friends. Amazing view, comfortable beds and relaxing hot tub! The kitchen is well stocked for cooking. Would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful, private, quiet, everything you need is there! We’ve been to many VRBOs in North America, this is the only one we’ve been to 3 times! You won’t regret it.
Luxury oceanfront home base between family adventures in Sooke
Absolutely spectacular ocean scenery and up close view of sea life outside every window. The property is stunning, located close to everything in Sooke and close to day trips in the area. The house was cozy and beds were super comfortable. Equipped kitchen, gracious host and easy communication. Everything was perfect. Would love to come back!
We had an amazing time! The house was clean, well stocked, and the view could not be better. We saw orcas, seals, and bald eagles while in the clean, luxurious hot tub. The host responded within minutes when we had an issue. We went to Victoria and The Butchart Gardens one day and explored the beaches further north on the other days.I highly recommend this property!
My friends and I visited for our annual getaway weekend and had a great time. The views were incredible and the cabin was well stocked and welcoming. We hope to return again!
This was such a wonderful property. The access to the water, the patios, and hot tub were highlights for us. We enjoyed the space and the beauty surrounding it. The home gets hot in the day time, so important to close the blinds and have the fan blowing.

My name is Ines, I am of Dutch descend but was born in Spain hence the spanish name. I moved with my family to Victoria BC, straight from the Costa Brava in Spain when I was 14 years old. Now, that is a long time ago! I am a registerd nurse and love my job in the community. I have two adult sons. I also love my place out in Sooke that I share with many people all over the world. It is the perfect place to get away from our busy lives.
Why they chose this property
This home was my first home that I owned and never could bring myself to sell it. Renting out month to month could not give me the options to enjoy it so the vacation rental option was perfect for us!
What makes this property unique
Peace and tranquility. Love getting close to the sun, fresh air and ocean breeze.
