Hi, we’re Tatiana and Adam. We built Loon Lookout in 2021 as a peaceful escape from city life—a place to enjoy the outdoors with our young children, family, and friends. We instantly fell in love with the quiet, pristine lake and the rugged natural beauty that surrounds it.

Loon Lookout is nestled among sweeping pines and rocky shores, where evenings are spent by crackling bonfires and the haunting calls of loons echo across the water. It’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and create lasting memories.

We’ve designed the cottage to be a warm and comfortable retreat for other families who appreciate the charm and serenity of classic cottage country. We hope you love it as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

Parry Sound truly is cottage country at its best—surrounded by countless lakes, nestled beside the iconic Georgian Bay, and just a stone’s throw from Muskoka. We chose this spot for its perfect blend of peaceful seclusion and convenient access to nearby amenities.

Loon Lookout feels worlds away from the city, tucked into 22 acres of untouched nature, yet we’re only a short drive to the town of Parry Sound. There, you’ll find everything from big-box store essentials to charming antique shops, artisan bakeries, cozy cafés, and local makers offering everything from handmade soaps to fine art.

We love the balance this area provides. It’s peaceful and uncrowded—especially compared to the busier parts of Muskoka—yet rich with things to do year-round. In the summer, you can explore scenic hiking trails, rent a boat at the marina to cruise Georgian Bay, or take in live music at The Sound, a popular summer music festival held in Parry Sound.

For nature lovers, there are national and provincial parks close by, with opportunities for fishing, canoeing, and wildlife spotting. In winter, the area transforms into a quiet, snowy wonderland perfect for snowshoeing, skiing, and snowmobiling.

And if you’re ever in the mood for a livelier vibe, the charming town of Rosseau is just 20 minutes away, offering farmer’s markets, boutiques, and lakeside dining.

We love how this neighborhood offers a true escape, with the beauty and simplicity of nature always front and center—yet everything you need is just around the corner.

What makes this property unique

What truly sets Loon Lookout apart is the sense of privacy and connection to nature that’s hard to find anywhere else. Tucked away on 22 acres with no neighbors in sight, our property backs onto expansive Crown Land that stretches all the way to Oastler Lake Provincial Park—making it a dream for hikers and nature lovers. You can explore right from your doorstep without ever getting in the car.

Our lake is non-motorized, which means no boat traffic, no gasoline fumes, and no noise pollution—just peaceful waters perfect for paddleboarding, swimming, canoeing, or kayaking. It’s the kind of serenity that invites you to truly slow down and reconnect.

The cottage itself is spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed with a style we like to call “Scandy-Candy”—a blend of Scandinavian simplicity and Canadian comfort. It’s clean, cozy, and minimal, yet fully equipped with everything you need to relax and entertain in style. For the foodies and hosts among us, the kitchen is stocked with plenty of plates, platters, serving utensils, and glassware to make entertaining easy and enjoyable.

Start your mornings with a fresh espresso from our dedicated coffee station, and in the winter, warm up with our hot chocolate bar—always a hit with kids and adults alike.

The partially finished basement is a family favorite, offering a fun and flexible space to unwind. There’s a ping pong table, a second TV area, extra sleeping space, a mini gym zone, and loads of toys for the little ones to explore. Whether you’re gathering around the fire, playing games downstairs, or just taking in the peaceful lake view, there’s something here for everyone—including your furry friends, because pets are welcome too.

Loon Lookout is more than just a cottage—it’s a retreat, a playground, and a sanctuary all in one.
