beautiful but wouldn't rent again
We rented this house for an October weekend, 4 adult women, celebrating a milestone birthday.
Pros:
- house exactly as described,accurate pictures and description with 1 exception (see below)
- value for the $
- ease of communication with property manager
- beautiful sunsets
- right on the ocean, which is what we wanted
Cons
- little black bugs in master bedroom for entire weekend (property mgr said sometimes that happens w oceanfront properties and suggested we change the sheets and/or have caretaker come out and spray - we just dealt with them)
- beach was gross (pvc piping everywhere, garbage in the water, rubber and concrete all over the sand)
- wind turbines in distance ruined the view
- asked for early check-in but not available
the house is about 15 ft from the edge of the dunes, which are eroding into the ocean. other properties on this road have fallen into the ocean and/or have been condemned in the last few years. we did not know this until 4 days before check-in, which is when we received the address. we would not have rented this house if we knew of those conditions. we asked to switch to another property but none were available. we figured we would see the house in person and if it was too dangerous we would not stay. we ended up staying (see review above) but would not rent again.
