Bright and beautifully renovated four-season cottage just 15 minutes north of Huntsville on a quiet spring- fed lake. Tastefully designed with great attention to detail, modern stainless steel appliances, beautiful furnishings and antiques, and artwork a beautiful setting for family gatherings. With a western exposure, enjoy beautiful sunsets from the spacious patio, dock, or lakeside gazebo.
At the end of the laneway, you'll be greeted with a picturesque view of the lake and the first views of the cottage. Upon entering, you'll be treated with 12 foot ceilings, large floor to ceiling windows, and a sitting room with a two-sided wood-burning fireplace, perfect for reading a book or enjoying a family game night. Connected to the family room is a state of the art kitchen designed with the home chef in mind, featuring granite countertops, a 36 inch fridge and accompanying bar fridge, a Miele induction cooktop and convection oven, professional coffee maker, a 60 square foot island and other myriad appliances that are ready for anything. Just off the kitchen is a door to the patio where you will find an expansive wrap-around deck, including a full size dinner table, barbeque, and plenty of outdoor seating. Overlooking the deck, you will find the loft, a billiards and recreational room that has that old-fashioned feel. Fully adorned in deep cherry wood, the billiards room includes its own fridge, and microwave, perfect for a mid-game snack or drink, as well as a powder room and a 65 inch TV.
The blinds on the living room, family room and billiard room are child friendly automatic shades. On the wall entering both rooms you will find the controls to selectively open each or all shades as well as the option to close the blinds but still allow visibility outside.
Going downstairs, you will find two additional sitting areas, separated by a two-sided gas fireplace, which also has a 60 inch TV and plenty of seating, perfect for a movie night. Connected to the downstairs family area is a comfortable Muskoka Room, which faces a patio with a firepit, and a small exercise room featuring a yoga matt and a rowing machine for those stormy days when you can't do it outside.
The yard is level to the lake which makes reaching the sandy beach an easy trek for young and old alike, and a great space for outdoor games. The lake is shallow and warm, perfect for wading or paddling and remains warm into September.
There are two paddle boards and two kayaks with adult life preservers at the waterfront.
At night, you have the option to retire to one of five bedrooms, but we recommend taking the op. There is an upstairs and a downstairs master bedroom, both of which have lake views and large ensuite bathrooms, including full sized showers and bath tubs. There is also a third bedroom with an ensuite facing the driveway and forest. The downstairs ensuite features a steam shower for somebody looking for a change of pace. In addition to the ensuites, there are two quiet bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, that are perfect for kids. There is a small powder room on the main floor and a spacious bathroom with a shower and double sink downstairs.
In addition to the above, the cottage also features modern amenities, including highspeed Starlink internet and air conditioning. The property is accessible and enjoyable all year, with every season offering its own splendid views and activities.
Smoking is not permitted inside. Pets are welcome, but we would appreciate if they were toweled up before coming inside (there are old beach towels available that can be used for that purpose). Linens are provided.
There is a grocery store five minutes down the lane, but we recommend visiting nearby Huntsville during your stay. It boasts name brand grocery stores, lovely restaurants, and charming boutique shops. There are also plenty of other nearby attractions including Arrowhead Provincial Park, TreeTop Trekking, Muskoka Heritage Place, the Algonquin Theatre, Huntsville Festival of the Arts, the Screaming Heads North of Muskoka sculptures, and lovely golf courses, including Deerhurst Highlands and Huntsville Downs.
