Underwhelming and poorly set up
Overall disappointed in quality for the price paid. Brilliant views and location but a poor quality stay experienced. While it is a big house it wasn’t really set up for the number of people booked for or advertised. The dishwasher and coffee machine were big selling points and neither of them worked. I attempted to contact the local host as per the compendium multiple times by text and call to no avail. While there were plenty of knives and forks, for a full kitchen there wasn’t enough bowls or cooking materials to cater to 6 people, even when we had 4 people staying we went and purchased our own bowls and containers for food prep. I would struggle to see how 10 people could comfortably stay here, not so much in terms of areas to sleep but living and eating with limited seating indoor and out. While we paid a pet bond and discussed our small dog coming with the owner (I.e they knew a pet was coming) the kennel and enclosed area in the backyard were overgrown and full of rodent faeces. Large potholes through the of outside area which were trip hazards. We had a long booking of 8 nights. There was not enough linen provided for 6 adults over this time, particularly towels as we were there for a sporting event. Nor was there appropriate cleaning materials for that length of stay, with a mostly carpeted house, a week is a long time to go without a vaccum or a mop!
