Family stay
Communication from the moment we booked was great. They gave us really clear instructions of how to find the property as well as answering any questions we had. On arrival to the property, we were greeted by Bob who was welcoming, helpful and an all round nice bloke. The barn was stunning, the photos do not do it justice. It is so original and spacious but still really cosy not forgetting the amazing views. We spent the day by the river and around the property with our Golden Retriever who became best buddies with Bob’s Golden Retriever’s by the end of our stay. I would highly recommend this place and we will be back soon!

Bob and Karen are rare gems. Their genuine and warm welcoming amidst the beautiful bush surrounds instantly set us at ease… and when we saw the house we were kinda gobsmacked! It’s truly a thing of beauty. Bob built this house (including every mud brick) along with surrounding rock walls over quite a few years and as he showed us through, it became clear that every feature of this house has a story attached to it. From the stairs made from railway sleepers to the bench repurposed from an old pool table and multiple other items that have been found/cleaned up, repurposed, up cycled and recycled - there’s a LOT of love and good will in this house (not to mention great style), which isn’t surprising after meeting Bob and Karen - they’re absolute crackers of humans. Everything was perfect. The house was expansive yet cosy and warm with the log fire; the bedding was lovely and comfortable and the many small touches throughout the house added to the overall beauty and comfort. The Gros River’s just a stones throw away - beautiful clear shallow waters, great for a paddle (apparently lovely to swim in in the summer months) and the idyllic bush setting made the whole experience so relaxing- the upstairs balcony was an awesome vantage point from which to soak it all in! Overall an absolutely gorgeous place hosted by the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet. We’ll definitely be staying here again! Can I give more than 5 stars?!

What can I say other than WOW This place is amazing. The hosts Bob and Karen were very friendly and welcoming, they made us feel like we had known them for years. We were also greeted by the beautiful friendly golden retriever’s. The property had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Bob made sure we were never left cold by keeping the fire going while we were out and about. We will definitely be staying again 😀
