Lovely House / Poor Experience
The positives for this property: * great location * lovely neighbours * beautiful house * well stocked * contemporary furnishing and lovely decor The things that were not great: * I had a significant number of cockroaches - the final straw was when two were in my bed. The property manager was responsive to spraying the house but overall belittled my issue and frequently used words like “your claimed experience” implying I might be lying! * on arrival my bed linen had black marks on it. The linen people came and changed them and in their words said they ‘looked like they hadn’t been cleaned properly”. Again raised with property manager and all I heard was that this was not likely dirt. They just didn’t get that you shouldn’t have grubby linen. Belittled the issue again. I had to ask the property manager to only deal with me in writing because I got exasperated by the type of dialogue I had with them - it was a lot of words but really felt quite shallow and lack of substance. I was told they were there to help and they did respond to issues but when you pay 14,000 AUD to rent a place for a few weeks you expect perfection and good engagement, not a load of pointless sales type conversation. What was generally a great experience with the property was made really poor by the handling of my issues. I’ve rented many properties as I travel a lot. I come to Sydney regularly. I won’t be staying in this property again and won’t be staying in any managed by this property manager.
