Starlight Retreat - Two Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 6
House Rules (requirements which must be met in order to book): Lead guest must be 30+ years of age. Pets are welcome. Linens and towels are provided, but please bring your own outdoor towels. No parties allowed. A supplemental information form must be completed to finalize the booking (under 5 min to complete) which includes information on the guests and confirms agreement to our rental agency's terms and conditions. You are paying a cleaning fee for a cleaning team to come in, following your departure, however, the cottage must be left in a tidy condition upon departure.
Nestled in a serene wooded setting, Starlight Retreat offers an enchanting escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This charming cottage features two cozy bedrooms and an additional bunkie, making it an ideal spot for families or small groups of friends. The open-concept living and dining area provides a welcoming space to relax and unwind, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light and offer picturesque views of the surrounding nature.
Step outside to discover the highlight of Starlight Retreat: a huge, brand-new deck off the back of the cottage. This expansive outdoor space is perfect for morning coffee, alfresco dining, or simply soaking up the sun. Just off the deck, you’ll find the beautiful firepit area, a delightful spot to gather in the evenings for stories, marshmallow roasting, and stargazing under the clear night sky.
For those who love the water, the private waterfront dock is a true gem. Accessed via a charming wooded trail (approximately 1km from the cottage), the dock area feels like your own private campsite, complete with a second BBQ, a canoe and five kayaks for your paddling pleasure. Spend your days exploring the tranquil waters of Robinson Lake, jumping in off the dock for a refreshing swim, or lounging with a good book. The grassy lawn at the cottage is perfect for outdoor games and picnics, adding to the array of activities available.
Conveniently located just minutes from the Highway 7 and 62 intersections, Starlight Retreat is incredibly easy to get to, yet feels worlds away from the everyday. Whether you’re seeking adventure or tranquility on a lake, this cottage provides the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable getaway. Waterfront The cottage isn’t directly waterfront, but there is a private road access with a huge picnic area & dock, within walking distance from the cottage (or you can drive if you prefer). The dock is in place year-round, with an approximate depth off dock of 6'. It’s possible to swim off the dock in open water, but the main waterfront is in a bay, with marshland. The bottom is muddy. You can canoe or kayak to Pine Island to swim in open water off of the rocks there. There are some weeds, but it’s generally good for swimming.

The park overall has two skate parks (one geared more to beginners, and the other to more advanced users), a three deck mega-tower playground, a 4000sq ft splash pad, a full service canteen and ice cream shoppe, two sets of indoor washrooms, a rental/ service building for skateboards, BMX bikes and scooters, several shade structures and picnic areas and a Performing Arts Centre. Whytock Park. Whytock park offers a mix of tranquility and excitement, with 60 acres of conservation land, so there’s lots of space to walk, relax and enjoy some fresh air. If you have more energy to burn you can also check out the great recreation facilities available! (20 mins)
O’Hara Mill Homestead and Conservation Area. Great park offering both a conservation area with trails, and a Homestead pioneer village. Guided tours are available between Victoria Day and Labour Day weekends, providing you with an in-depth view of pioneer life in the 1800s, sharing stories of each building and the O’Hara family along the way. You can also visit after hours, during the off-season, or simply prefer to wander about on your own, there's a grounds map giving you an overview of the homestead landscape and a brief history of each building.
