About the host
Your host

We are retired educators who love to travel and spend time with our families. We have been renovating a 150 year old church on Prince Edward Island, Canada and that is why we leave our beloved lakehouse for months in Canada during the summer season. Our home is full of reminders of the overseas places we have lived and loved, especially Japan, India and Bali. We love comfortable, simple living and set up our homes to be relaxed and peaceful.
Why they chose this property
Our environment is away from the usual tourist haunts but so typical of Maine's agricultural and forestry heritage. We love the endless forest, the mountain trails, the farmlands. The lakes are quiet and clean, and our pond is particularly pristine and full of wildlife. The neighborhood is friendly, with kindred spirits who are stewards of the natural resources and respectful of this special corner of the world.
What makes this property unique
The uniqueness of our home is that a Maine cabin it's not! It's a wall of glass onto the pond under a canopy of trees that is stunning in all seasons. In any corner of the house there is a space to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the water. We purchased from the family who spent 30 years custom designing and building this spacious, open place and we are slowly making our own changes while respecting their vision and crafstmanship.
