About this property

Margaret River Town Sanctuary

Right in the heart of Margaret River, this very special house and garden sanctuary includes outdoor relaxation spaces including an undercover living area with outdoor heating for the winter months.
The house boasts an eclectic collection of art from my work in remote Aboriginal communities and from local artists. From the house, you can enjoy an easy walk to the river, forest and the main street galleries, shops and cafes. Winery tour operators can pick you up from the house.
The space
This self contained retreat is located as a private annexe in the rear section of our spacious older style Margaret River home. The accommodation is semi, detached, meaning it is a private space joined by a common wall. Our guests enjoy their own private entrance, a living area, two bedrooms if needed, a modern bathroom and comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces.

The property has been creatively renovated with attention to space and design, ensuring you have a comfortable and relaxing stay. Quality linen and towels are supplied and wifi is available for easy internet connection.

The furnishing is comprised of an eclectic mixture of modern and antique pieces, pottery from Spain and just special things that have been collected over time.

I am once again building up my reading collection where you'll find many books with an Aboriginal voice, popular novels, travel and art books. For the musicians, the guitar will always be tuned.

The retreat provides spacious accommodation for a maximum of 4 guests. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the second bedroom has a double bed. Both beds boast the best in mattress comfort.

The covered private outdoor area, has a comfortable daybed and a dining table and chairs.

The entrance verandah overlooks the courtyard garden and is a relaxing place to soak up the morning sun.

Soft lighting creates a warm, inviting ambience in the outdoor areas in the evening.

The living area has a dining table and chairs, a sofa and two occasional chairs.

The modern L shaped bathroom has a spacious shower, granite splash back, and the very latest shower head to ensure strong water pressure for a relaxing shower. The bathroom has two entrances, one giving easy access from the bedrooms, and the other, leading outside to the garden.

We have a small kitchenette. It includes all basic conveniences needed for a short stay holiday, including: 2 portable, one pot induction cook-tops; a microwave oven; a small fridge, quality cookware & crockery. We supply tea and coffee, salt and pepper and cooking oil. We have a pod coffee machine with pods supplied.

There is no oven in the kitchen. The portable induction cook tops can be used with the outdoor power point, if you prefer to cook outside. The kitchen cleverly incorporates a washing machine, and there is an outdoor clothes line.

The house has reverse cycle air conditioning in the master bedroom and living area to keep you warm and cozy in winter, & cool in summer. The second bedroom has a wall heater. It also has a door to the outside living area.

Please note that we do not take school leavers during the dates 17-22 November 24. Our outdoor spa area mentioned in much older reviews from has been replaced with a courtyard garden.

We feel sure that you will feel comfortable, relaxed and at home during your stay at Margaret River Town Sanctuary.
Guest access
Check in time is 2.00pm and checkout time is 10.00am. You can park in the parking bay under the shade sail at the front of the house. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be sent further directions and the lock box code, so that you can access the property at your convenience, make yourselves at home, begin your holiday and relax.
Other things to note
Some of our older reviews mention an outdoor spa. The spa has been discontinued and replaced by a courtyard garden.

We only take one booking at a time to ensure your privacy and exclusive enjoyment of the space.

PLEASE CONFIRM WITH THE OWNER BEFORE ARRIVAL IF YOU WANT TO ADD EXTRA GUESTS TO YOUR RESERVATION.

As our house is in a central, residential street, we ask guests to maintain a quiet ambience after 10pm, and in line with accommodation guidelines.
