About this property

One bedroom holiday flat near the 3 Sisters

Compact, restored 1940s holiday flat near The Three Sisters, Echo Point and Jamison Valley walks.

The space: A sunny one bedroom holiday flat at ground level, just five minute walking distance to the famous Three Sisters and Echo Point. This is a perfect location for hiking.

The floor area is 40 sq. meters, larger than most studios and smaller than the average one bedroom urban apartment. It opens to shared garden spaces. There is a bedroom with a queen bed and built in wardrobe. The narrow bathroom has the original cast iron bath and basin. There is a hallway and a living room with dining/desk space, lounge, TV/sound and a small kitchen. Please note there is no oven or dishwasher. There is however, an induction cooktop, microwave, electric fry pan, electric wok, rice cooker, blender, toaster and jug. So you can definitely cook a meal if you don’t want to go out to one of the many restaurants and cafes in Katoomba or Leura.

The flat is sunny, insulated and heated with a gas fire, electric column heater and electric blankets.

These apartments were built as holiday flats in 1950. Rather than renovate we have restored, keeping as many of the original features as possible. It is furnished with collected mid century items such as a 1950s day bed and 1960s Danish sideboard. We have attempted to create an interesting, space that brings the original intent of the building back to life.

Guest access.
Guests have access to a shared laundry with washing machines and a dryer. There is clothes line and garden.

Why they chose this property

This flat is one of six. They were built in the year 1950 as purpose built holiday flats. We purchased three of them (right side of drive way) in 2003 as a restoration project. We loved that original hardwood floors were hiding under the bad carpets and linoleum. The bathrooms and kitchens were also original. Importantly the building has a north aspect which ensures greater warmth.

We love that you can do stunning bush walks without driving anywhere first.

What makes this property unique

It is very cute and it has been decorated with collected and found mid century objects.
