Historic House with stunning views!
Wonderful stay in a beautiful historic home! Wonderful host, very responsive and flexible. Easy check-in. We all had such a great time. Plenty of space for our group of 8. Walkable distance to the cute downtown area with shops and cafes. As other reviewers said, you can hear the trains at night but we were all totally fine with it.

Adorable house, nice host, horrible 3rd party rental company
The house is lovely, as advertised with a great view. Clean, warm and very cozy. The streets were somewhat busy w/ people coming and going at all hours. Host communicated well prior to arrival, let us coordinate early check in as it was offseason. Train can be heard in the distance but wasn’t a bother. The host was communicative but the third party rental company that owns the listing on VRBO was awful to work with, we encountered some issues and spent hours on the phone with them and they did not attempt to remedy anything. We ended up leaving a day early because we felt unsafe. Newburgh has a high crime rate with many offenders living in the surrounding area so keep your wits about you when walking around.

PESACH

Musty and dusty
Place is an old house with old furnishings. Lots of dust. House is situated near the Hudson beautiful views. However, this is near the train tracks. You will the train all night. Rules of the house, you can’t wear shoes, take out the trash, tidy up, run the dishwasher, strip the bedding, and then you have a 250 cleaning fee on top of that. Wouldn’t recommend.

The house is lovely, as advertised with a great view. Clean, warm and very cozy. The street was somewhat busy w/ people coming and going at all hours. Host communicated well prior to arrival, let us coordinate early check in as it was offseason. train can be heard in the distance but wasn’t a bother. We unfortunately had an encounter with a local where we were verbally accosted on our way to the home- just a few blocks away. We immediately contacted the host and let her know we felt unsafe - Newburgh has a high crime rate with many offenders living in the surrounding area so that added to the layer of unease. The host let us know she would let us leave if we paid one night and the cleaning fee. We were then instructed to contact Vrbo. We spent hours on the phone with Vrbo and the 3rd party rental company, Evolve, that the host used to list the property on VRBO. Vrbo couldn’t do anything & Evolve passed us from rep to rep with no one expressing concern for our well being. They said that since we were not physically harmed and since it wasn’t captured on video they couldn’t verify it happened and wouldn’t refund us. They said we could leave the home, but after over 800 for a 3 day stay we couldn’t afford to book somewhere else w/out a refund. We told this to the host who offered to partially refund the cleaning fee only instead of the original offer. We ended leaving day early - in the end, the host instead refunded us 100 of the 233 fee. Great house, awful rental company
