Upscale modern home
I probably wouldn’t give this a five star rating if it wasn’t for the personal interaction with the owner and the management company. The management company was local and responded quickly to our correspondence. We were allowed to check in an hour early and check out an hour late. Very accommodating. It’s a beautiful place in a beautiful spot. Could’ve been a little cleaner: a little autumn debris outside the entrances; a bit of stuff under the hide a bed cushions; a bit of debris in the hot tub; a few insects in the beautiful fireplace; the view would’ve been better with cleaner windows. The basement games room and bar was a bit stuffy. Perhaps we didn’t really know how to control the ventilation system as it is quite sophisticated. Basically I’m a clean freak and none of the above prevented us from having a spectacular winter vacation. We took advantage of the pond which is not advertised. It would’ve been spectacular if we were able to flood the ice as it was rough and crystallized. That’s probably asking way too much because it’s not advertised anyway. Just would’ve been absolutely spectacular if the ice was better. Having said that, what’s more Canadian than scraping natural ice for an hour to play a game of shinny on rough outdoor ice?Overall the place was really beautiful, well appointed, stocked with everything we needed and we had an exceptional winter vacation with our family. Thanks again to the owner and management company.
