The Space:
Gem Near the Dam sits in the quiet suburban countryside of Chintin, just an hour away from the bustling city of Melbourne. This rustic retreat perched atop a hill, surrounded by the embrace of towering trees, with our native woodland stretching out behind it.

The location offers a secluded escape into the heart of nature, overlooking a tranquil, spring-fed dam with breathtaking panoramic views of Chintin. Lerderderg State Park, Woodlands Historic Park, Forest Glade Gardens, and Hanging Rock Winery are few of the nearby attractions you can explore.

A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.

Guests have access to the tiny house, paddocks 4-5, and the forest.

There is a 5-minute walk from the parking spot to the tiny house. Upon arrival, guests have access to a trolley to assist them in carrying their belongings to the tiny house.

The Neighborhood:
Gem near the Dam is located in Chintin, just an hour away from the bustling city of Melbourne. Chintin is a little known part of the Macedon Ranges. It is characterised by beautiful woodlands and expansive views. The tiny house sits near Mount Macedon Walks in Central Victoria, Trentham Falls, Riddells Creek Farmers Market, Hanging Rock and Lancefield Brewery.

Our local recommendations:

- DV Cider is only 5 minutes away and is a great place to relax and enjoy lunch and craft ciders
- Tall Poppy Farm in Romsey serves pizza and wine from their winery
- Kuzu Izakaya is a Japanese restaurant that is a mix of traditional Izakaya staples.
- Camels Hump is the ideal location for hiking while enjoying the beautiful views of Hanging Rock.
- Lancefield Brewery is a local brewery producing craft beer.
- Hanging Rock is a pram-friendly walking path weaved through the reserve, allowing close access to flora and fauna.
- In Woodend, enjoy a McQueens authentic Italian Style Pizza whilst enjoying a gin at Gindu or some local wines at 600 Above.
- Enjoy stunning wines and sculptures and Mount Monument wines.

- No smoking on the property
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Please be advised that we have livestock on our property
- Pets are not permitted
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional
charge
- No children

Breakfast is $40 per pack (minimum for 2) and it usually consists of:
- 2 quiches made from local eggs
- 2 Millet Road Maker sour dough crumpets
- Chin Chin Farm Honey
- Locally roasted coffee
- Kindling and matches cost $25 per load

Dinner pack is $120 per pack (minimum for 2) and usually consists of:
- Gas BBQ
- Lamb Koftas x 4
- Salad
- Cheese
- Olives
- Flat Bread
- Chin Chin Farm Bushfood relish
- Chin Chin Farm Chocolate Brownie
- Bottle Local wine

- 1 litre drinking water is provided on arrival. Additional water can be provided at $5 per litre.
- Wood fired bath is available outside the fire season. $80 including fire wood and water.

Important note:

- Our tiny homes are completely off grid
- Guests are advised to bring portable power banks in case of low power
- Guests are also advised to save energy to avoid running out of electricity
- Please take note that the outdoor fire pit and bath are not available during the fire season
- Please charge your phone and electronics in advance in case of low-light days
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Keep in mind that the BBQ grills, outdoor fire pits and heated outdoor bath are not available during a total fire ban
- In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our compost toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
