About this property
Tamara Cottage - Historic Warmth
Located in a historic pocket of Hobart, this charming 1850s retreat has been beautifully restored to pair old-world elegance with modern conveniences including WiFi, air-conditioning and a washing machine to make you feel at home. Within a 15-minute walk of the CBD, you can stroll to cafes, restaurants and city sights, pick up fresh produce at the Farm Gate Market to cook in the galley-style kitchen, enjoy a glass of local wine in the garden, and settle in with a movie in the cosy lounge area.
This three-bedroom hideaway provides a comfortable and thoughtfully appointed base for those wanting to explore the region or unwind in their very own historic retreat. Guests are greeted by an entrance hallway that leads down to a spacious formal dining area with its fresh white palette, high ceilings and unique period features. Sit down to enjoy a meal together at the timber six-seater table.
A galley-style kitchen with exposed sandstone walls offers all that’s needed to cook up a feast, including a Nespresso machine. Through french doors you'll find a cosy lounge room, comfortably furnished with a sofa and armchair to settle into with a movie after a day of sightseeing. While a number of original fireplaces make charming decorative features throughout, split system air-conditioning in the dining room ensures year-round comfort.
Three elegantly appointed bedrooms accommodate six guests, all offering queen-size beds, side tables and reading lamps. A contemporary bathroom features a shower and all the essentials including soap, shampoo and conditioner, and a hairdryer.
During your stay, you and your group will have the entire house to yourself. Please make yourself at home!
Please read and respect the house rules. This is very much appreciated, thank you! Before your arrival, we will also share a house guide that contains instructions on how to access the property, use certain appliances, and anything else you may need to know.
